Liebster Award

Hello everyone, so the lovely Viola from 'the macaroon moon', nominated me for the Liebster Award. To be honest, I had no idea what this was to start off with, but I did my research and what it is, is for blogs who have under 200 followers (i did this through bloglovin) and it gains them some recognition. The person who nominates you gives you 11 questions to answer, then after you've answered the questions, you then make up your own questions and nominate some more blogs that have under 200 followers. So here we go, I'm going to answer the questions Viola made for me! (ps, there is an official banner for the liebster award, but I made my own).

1. What's your favourite colour?
My favourite colour has to be white, because white just goes with everything!

2. What's the most important essential in your bag?
I always carry the lipstick/lipgloss I have on that day with me in my bag incase I need a top up, so I guess you could say that is an essential for me.

3. What's your favourite nail polish?
Definitely Barry M Papaya, it's just the most gorgeous coral/orange colour.

4. If you could have one superpower what should it be?
I'd probably want to have the power to read peoples minds, that'd be the most interesting thing to do.

5. How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging since April, I tried before that but I didn't really know what I was doing but then I finally decided to give it a proper go in April, and I have been doing it since!

6. Do you have any pets?
No I don't, I wish I did though! I'd LOVE a pug, they're so cute.

7. Where would you like to live?
I'd love to live in London some point in my life, or in the US!

8. Makeup or fashion?
This is the most difficult question ever! I'm more addicted to buying makeup, but then I do love fashion and clothe shopping? I'd have to say makeup because I'm so addicted.

9. If you should live the rest of your life in one dress which one would it be?
I actually don't own hardly any dresses, but out of the ones I do own it would be my daisy print tshirt dress!

10. Icecream or candy?
Icecream all the way, nothing beats it!

11. How would you describe your style?
Quite girly, but then sometimes a bit of a darker side thrown in sometimes, if that makes any sense?

So now the questions for the people I nominate, if I nominate you, these are the questions you must answer!

1. If you could only have one makeup product for a month, what would it be?
2. Do you prefer planning outfits or what makeup you'll wear the next day?
3.If you could live in any other country other than your own, which one would it be?
4.Which food would you live off forever if you could?
5.Tea or coffee?
6.Would you rather stay in for a movie night or go out to a party?
7.Favourite high street shop and why?
8.What's the best movie you've ever watched?
9.Favourite homeware shop?
10.Who is your favourite beauty youtuber/blogger?
11.How would you describe your personality?

Finally, I nominate...Molly Louise Blogs, beautyblogs101, thepaintfactory, The Daily Vogue, the ridiculous fashionblog! I know it says nominate 11, but honestly I haven't met enough people through blogging yet to nominate, so I'd love to meet some new people! To the people I have nominated, have fun answering the questions and your blogs are amazing!

Your Best Friends While Feeling Poorly

Hello everyone, so its the end of August, and pretty much the end of summer now, which makes me so sad. This seems to happen to me every year however, around the end of August beginning of September time, I always seem to get ill. It's like an end of summer cold, which sucks. So today I thought I'd share with you little things that help me feel a bit better when you're feeling poorly!

So first of all, when you have a bit of a cold you're pretty much guaranteed a blocked nose. What I find helps this is a 'Vicks nasal inhaler stick', so boring I know but it's something actually worth having to clear your nose up a bit! Secondly, a concealer that maybe covers up those dark circles under your eyes since you haven't been getting much sleep. I chose the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer, because I find this really brightens up under your eyes. I know some people might say 'oh I don't want to be wearing make up if I feel ill,' true, but I still feel that having just a tiny bit on can make you feel just that bit better about yourself!

The next two things are the the S&G body butter, in the little travel sized pot and oh my gosh this stuff has the best smell! When I'm not feeling well my skin doesn't feel great either, so moisturizing is a nice thing to do. Secondly is the baby lips in 'Mint Fresh'. I'm pretty sure everyone in the entire world has heard of the baby lips collection, and everyone is over the hype now but this one is great for feeling a bit more fresh. The baby lips leave your lips feeling super soft and smooth, and this mint one makes your lips feel fresh and you can smell the mintiness so it kind of clears up your nose also.  I just feel like this helps refresh me a little!

And last but not least, MOVIES! Especially chick flicks, what would staying in bed all day doing nothing be without a good movie? I love just sitting in bed with my laptop, watching soppy girly movies that make laugh. A few I love are 'A Cinderella Story', 'John Tucker Must Die' and 'Mean Girls', but there is millions more you could watch.

What do you like to do when you're feeling poorly? Thanks for reading!

Back To School Essentials

Hello everyone, today I'm doing another school related post, since school is a week away or maybe you've just gone back! Anyway, I know how boring school is but I want to try and make this post exciting and make you want to pack your bag ready for school. So this is some of my essentials, that you could add to your bag this year too!

So to start off with, a pencil case. This is a super boring thing I know, but if you have everything, you feel organised and prepared. Even though its a small thing it can take off a little bit of stress because you know you don't have to worry about borrowing someone else's pen or not having a ruler for that test you have, etc.
Next is just a body spray. This is something that you don't have to spend much on at all since it's just for your school bag. As you can see I have a charlie spray in 'pink'. This was on offer in Boots for £1. I think having a body spray is a really useful thing, for example, after PE you might want to use some because you've done a lot of exercise or maybe you just want to freshen up! Also, headphones. I would be SO lost without my headphones, listening to music on the way to school or if you're allowed in lessons, is such a calming way to start your day or keep you a little less stressed in any lessons you may be allowed to listen to music.

Then lastly, my 'make up' kinda of essentials bag. I bought this small purse/make up bag from H&M, I love it so much. Its a metallic colour with a shiny material, its like a mermaids tail! Anyway, what I plan to keep in this is a hand sanitizer. Wow, where would I be without one of these. I used to have the Soap & Glory handmaid one, but I ran out. These are so super useful for school because of course all the stuff you touch at school other people have touched! I'm not a germ freak I promise, haha. Or I find it useful after Art and things where you have messy hands.

Then there is lip balm, you never know when you're going to need this! I just have the Body Shop Born Lippy in strawberry, because it smells AMAZING! Lip balm is so useful, especially going into the colder months when maybe your lips get a bit more dry.

Concealer, this is a super useful thing to carry with you too! After PE when your make up has run a bit and you look tired out, this is a life saver to brighten under your eyes. Or even if you're tired in the morning and you need to top up those tired eyes, this is something that will come in handy.

Mascara is handy to have, again, after PE your make up may have run and you want to put some back on! Or a water proof mascara to put on before you do PE so it doesn't end up running! Mascara is just one of those things, you'll never know when you may need it!

And last of all, hand cream. Not to sure on this one, I just like carrying it with me. When it gets colder your hands might get a bit dry and sore so having hand cream makes them feel 100x better and softer!

I hope this helped anyone going back to school, so what are your back to school essentials? Thanks for reading!

My Etsy Shop

Hello everyone, I'm sorry for the shameless self promo here! I have already done a VERY brief post on this, and it didn't explain anything so I've decided to do this. If you're here reading this, I can't explain how much I appreciate it. I'm going to explain how this came about, what I sell and what I hope to sell.

So, I made this about a month or so ago purely to because I really love making things. I started off with making some scrunchies in nice fabrics, and I have sold a few so far. As I am coming into my final year of school I am going to be extremely busy and I don't realllyy have enough time for a job. Well maybe I do, but it would add more stress. So this is a great alternative. I would really recommend this actually, it's so fun making all this stuff and it's something I love doing!

At the moment I am selling scrunchies and choker necklaces. I will be adding more things such as bracelets, and more necklaces, and maybe some more hair accessories!

Thank you so much if you read this, it means a lot. If you type in to Etsy, 'itslucysaccessories', you will find me. As I always ask a question at the end of my posts, I'll ask; whats your favourite Etsy shop?

Nude Drugstore Make Up Look

Hello everybody, I recently have been into doing quite simple and nude make up looks, and I really wanted to share this with you. I think this is perfect if you don't have much time to do your make up in the morning, or maybe for school, work etc. So let's get right into it!

(From left to right: Buffing Brush, Contour Brush, Base Shadow Brush, Brow Brush)

So no doubt everyone has seen these brushes before, yes the Real Techniques brushes. These four brushes are the ones I used for the whole make up look. First of all, I took my buffing brush and my No7 foundation in the shade 'Calico', and started to apply that to my face. The thing when applying foundation with a brush is to do a circular motion on your face so it's all blended in well. The No7 foundation is a light coverage, because I didn't want anything to heavy for this look.

Then I took my Rimmel match perfection concealer and put that under my eyes to cover any dark circles. At first I was unsure whether this concealer worked well for me, as I didn't like how you had to apply it, because it has a brush type tip instead of a wand like normal concealers, however the formula is really great and gives such good coverage. I then blended that in with my contour brush.

After that, I just took my stay matte powder by Rimmel, and put a small amount of that across my nose and T zone. Then, I took my S&G solar powder, which I love so much, and did some contouring across my cheek bones, with my contour brush. I would really recommend the solar powder, it's really good for subtle contouring! And thats the face done!

Now onto the eyes/eyebrows, so firstly I coloured in my eyebrows with the darkest brown shade in the picture above from the MUA Undress Me Too palette, its the shade Obsessed. I filled them in with my brow brush. After I just went through them with my Maybelline brow drama to set them. Then you're good to go with those eyebrows!

Onto eyes, so I firstly took my base shadow brush and took the lightest brown shade in the picture which is the shade Lavish. It's quite subtle and thats why I only applied this eye shadow for this look. Then I curled my eyelashes and then applied my favourite mascara, the falsies.

Last but not least, lips. I took my NYX lip cream in the shade natural, and applied a small amount on my lips and blended it in, because it is quite pigmented. Over the top of this, once I'd blended it in, added some Vaseline just to give it a little bit of shine. The lip creams stay on all day, so I think this was a suitable one to pick for this look!

What are your favourite products if you're going for a nude look? Thankyou for reading, I really hope you enjoyed!

NYX Xtreme Shine Lip Cream

Hello everyone, I'm very late on the bandwagon with this product I know, but I really wanted to post about this because I find it just the strangest lip product and I wanted to share my thoughts with you all.
I have read reviews on the NYX lip creams, and a lot of people seem to really enjoy them. I still can't make up my mind fully whether I like this or not.

I have this in the shade Natural, which looks like a pinky nude shade in the bottle and even when you swatch it on your hand. This is why I opted for this because I was looking for a slight nude shade. However, when I got home, I tried this on and it honestly is the most completely different shade on my lips. It is almost the colour of a foundation or concealer which I wasn't really going for, because I find that to be to nude. I did try it for a second time, and put a little less product on my lips and see how this worked out. It came out slightly better as you could still get a glimpse of my natural lip colour.

The smell of the product is really odd if I'm honest, it smells just like playdough, weird right? The one amazing thing about this product is the pigmentation, it is literally the furthest away from a 'sheer' lip product.
On the bottle it explains how it isn't a lip gloss nor a lipstick, and it really is a lip cream so it does what it says!

So, overall I do like this product but I'm so unsure on the shade, its a bit misleading really, since its a different colour in the bottle compared to on the lips. But I will have to keep trying to see if I can make this nude shade work!

What do you think of the NYX Lip Creams? Thanks for reading!

If You Like It Wear It

Hello everyone, like I said I've decided to actually post more as I really do enjoy blogging a lot. Today I decided I'd do a discussion type of post, purely because I'm saving some beauty/fashion posts for other days! Anyway, I saw this picture on tumblr recently and it did really make me think. I know its a simple sentence, that is quite easy to ignore but I did have a good think about this.

I think this is a lot to do with confidence issues, and how much self confidence you have in yourself, and honestly I'm one for this too. I do worry a lot about what people will think if I wear a certain item of clothing, and I think this is the problem for a lot of other people too. You worry that people will judge you, right?

The thing is, the majority of the people you will see within your day, you will never see again. So if they do make a quick judgment in their head, for a start you're not going to know, and secondly, who cares? You will most likely never see them again! Don't worry about what others think, because really, you probably look super good in what you're wearing and people may just be jealous. I know everyone always says, "Oh they're just jealous," but I think that's the truth, because you can look amazing in those new trousers, or top, and that person maybe couldn't pull it off like you have.

So I encourage you to go out of your comfort zone, or just go out and buy that outfit you love, don't be afraid, you'll look super good in whatever you're wearing!

Thanks for reading guys, I hope this gave some of you some self confidence or just maybe some inspiration to go out and buy something you've been to scared to wear for a while. It'd be nice to know that I've maybe made a difference somewhere.

4 Easy No Heat Back To School Hairstyles

Hello everyone, I have decided to do a back to school related post today! (Sorry for the reminder to everyone that has school soon). I am going to be doing a few more back to school posts, because personally I like reading them and feeling slightly organised for the up coming school year! Even if you've finished school, or don't go to school these easy hairstyles will still be suitable for everyday.

The first style is what I'd call the 'half up half down' look, but with a bun. This is one of the more similar styles, however you do need to play around with it to get it looking exactly how you want.

Step One: Take about half of your hair, then with either a brush of your fingers just pull back the front bit of your hair so its flat.
Step Two: Start to twist the section of hair you have in your hand so your bun stays in place, then just make a bun shape on the top of your head and secure it with a hairband. (I'm sure everyone knows how to do a bun, but just in case haha).
Step Three: If you need to you can add bobby pins to keep it more secure, you can play around to shape it how you like, make it messy, make it neat, whatever you feel!

This one is one I'm super excited to show because I kind of made it up! It's a fish tail/french braid.

Step One: Make quite a deep side parting in your hair, then take a small section of your hair at the front.
Step Two: Next, with the piece of hair you have in your hand, section it into two pieces, as if you were about to start doing a fishtail braid. Then start to fishtail this section of hair, however, this is where the french braid part comes into it. Whilst fishtail braiding your hair, add small sections of hair into the part you are braiding, just like a french braid.
Step Three: I know this sounds so super complicated, but I promise it's not! It's just french braiding, but with two sections of hair instead of three, to give it a cool 'fishtail/french braid' style.
Step Four: Once you reach about your ear just start to do a normal fishtail braid, then tie it off with a hairband.

The third one is just a very simple pony tail, however a sort of middle pony tail, not high or low. With a bit of texture at the front.

Step One: Take all of your hair, and put it into a pony tail about halfway up your head, so its not a high ponytail nor a low one.
Step Two: Now, pull at the hair at the front of your head to give it some volume, if you have your hairband quite tight around your ponytail, the volume should stay for the rest of the day. You can use hairspray, or volumizing spray to make it hold longer too. This is a simple yet really effect one, especially if you want your hair out of your face for school and want to make it look a bit less 'casual'.

So the last hairstyle I will be showing you is just simply two low plaits. I think these can be really cute to wear and are super girly.

Step One: Part your hair into two sections and bring them round to the front.
Step Two: On either side, start to just do a normal plait, they don't have to be neat at all, messier the better!
Step Three: Once this is done all you need to do it just put a bit of volume to the top half of your hair, the bit thats not plaited. Just use your hands to push your hair up, or use some salt spray thats always really good. You can pull pieces of hair out and just style it how you like!

Thankyou for reading, I hope this gave you some ideas for how to have your hair for this next school year.

Maybelline Brow Drama

Hello everyone, so I'm back today with a kind of review post I suppose it will be? Anyway, I was recently watching MsRosieBea on Youtube, (you should check her out), and I saw her using this little gem. It's the Maybelline Brow Drama. I'm not sure how long this has been out, but I've only just come across it anyway. But oh my gosh, this is amazing! I think it's a bit like Benefit's Gimme Brow? But of course, a lot cheaper! This retails for £4.99.

This is what the applicator looks like, just like a mascara wand. Personally how I use it, is I fill in my eyebrows first, then once I have finished that I brush this through my brows, and it sets your eyebrows, if that makes sense, but still looks so natural. It doesn't clump in your eye brows or anything like that, and does give them a bit more of a tint. There are different shades, obviously because everyone has different brow colours! I think it's quite important to get the correct colour, otherwise it won't be used to the full effect.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a brow product, but is looking for something good. Also if you're just starting out with the whole 'eyebrow filling in' thing, this would definitely work for you.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed and maybe go and give this product a try. Please comment what else you'd like to see on my blog and if this post helped you out in any way, thanks!
