Two Products I've Been Loving

Recently I ran out of two vital products in my makeup routine - mascara and concealer, when purchasing I decided to go for something a bit different...

I had used Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer for almost a year and gone through about five tubes of the stuff so I decided to opt for something a bit different, for a change. I'd seen good reviews on the Seventeen concealer so decided to give it a go. It wasn't like I'd be breaking the bank buying it either. I have to say I'm seriously impressed. For us paler girls, the shade ranges are perfect. I do believe I picked up the lightest shade and its perfect for me. The formula is just right, not cakey in the slightest but not watery either. It blends really well and doesn't crease, where some concealers I've found have done so. I'm super impressed with this as it covers my dark circles perfectly and works well at brightening as well.

When my beloved Benefit Roller Lash ran out I was devastated because it was honestly the best mascara to have ever touched my eyelashes. I decided I couldn't justify the price tag attached again, well not for now anyway, so opted for something different. I didn't think anything could compare to that mascara, and to be fair nothing has but this mascara comes in close second. The wand is rather huge which I know bothers some people but I feel I can make it work - it does what is says on the packet and gives your lashes a lot of volume, that stays put all day long. This is something I always look for in a mascara, longevity. There is only one issue and its that it is pretty tricky to get off at the end of the day, but I think I can deal with that if I get nice voluminous lashes throughout the day!

What products are you loving at the moment?

A Classy Accessory | Daniel Wellington Watch

As of recently I've been really into accessories, and adding small pieces to my outfit to give it that bit more...

Watches are something I never really delved into for a very long time because I hated the feeling of having something on my wrist, plus I have this thing where I have to wear it on my right wrist even though I'm right handed (bit weird right)?! Anyway, lately I've been getting used to the idea of wearing a watch due to my gorgeous Daniel Wellington Classic Sheffield Watch*. It works so well with every outfit due to its black leather strap, which obviously matches with basically anything. What I particularly love about this watch is the rose gold hardware, its stunning. The face is quite big which I really like because I feel it makes more of a statement, but at the same time its a great every day watch. I honestly love this watch and it won't be leaving my wrist anytime soon! Keep an eye out on this space for more posts with this featured. You can also get 15% off your own Daniel Wellington watch with the code 'foreverseptemberr'. This is valid until January 31st 2016.

What do you think of the Classic Sheffield watch?

My Current Eyeshadow Look

Theres one eyeshadow look I've been going for recently and I've be reaching out for theBalm Nude Tude palette a lot...

I have done a review on theBalm Nude Tude palette, you can read that here if you so wish. I was a bit skeptical when I bought it, because I'd got the Naked 3 and I thought nothing would top that. But I was so wrong, this palette has such a great range of neutral shades that are all extremely wearable and the pigmentation of these colours are insane! Anyway enough of the rambling, these are the shades I've been getting the most use out of recently.

First of I'll prime my eyelids with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion to make sure the eyeshadow is going to stay put all day. Then I'll take the shade Sultry which is a mid toned brown, not to dark not to light. I pop this all over the lid to create a nice base. Then I'll go ahead and take the shade Sexy and run it lightly through the crease. Its a gorgeous red toned brown and I didn't think this type of shade would suit me, but it works surprisingly well. Once I have blended this into the crease I'll take the shade Sophisticated and gently blend it on the outter corners of my eyes. That just makes the all over shadow and crease shade blend well together. Finally, I'll take the shade Serious, which is a black shade and taking an angled brush run it along the lash line as if it were eyeliner. Then voila you're done!

Have you ever tried anything from theBalm?

Last Minute Gift Ideas

Theres always going to be that one person you're just stuck on what to buy for. I've gathered a few last minute gift ideas for when you're struggling to find something for that someone!

01. Fluffy Socks - Lets be honest you can never go wrong with fluffy/cosy socks. Primark do the biggest variety these days so theres plenty to choose from. They're super cosy and who doesn't love popping on fluffy socks on a cold evening watching movies?!

02. A Body Butter - The one I've picked out is from The Body Shop in the Mango scent (which smells amazing). You can't go wrong with a body moisturiser/butter, they'll get used up eventually. Pick one with a scent you know the person you're buying for will love then voila!

03. A Jar of Nutella - I'm a serious Nutella addict, I could honestly just sit there and eat it out of the jar. If you know someone who is a Nutella addict like me then a jar of this would be just perfect. Equally you could buy them a jar of peanut butter, or Cadbury's chocolate spread if they're not such a big Nutella fan.

04. A Phone Case - I'm pretty sure the majority of people use a phone case. There are millions to choose from online and on the high street. My one photographed is from Casehype and I think its a really cool design. Find out what phone to person you're buying for has and find a phone case you think they'll love!

05. A Yankee Candle - Yankee candles are honestly the best. You could buy them a Christmas themed one, or another scent you know they'll love. Theres such a variety to choose from, they're bound to like one of the scents. I think this is an easy but still very thoughtful gift for someone.

What are your last minute gift ideas?

Things To Do A Week Before Christmas

First things first - I kind of failed at Blogmas this year. I ran out of time and ideas to be honest, should have planned ahead! Note to self for next year. But I'm back today woo!

Christmas is a week away today to be exact, and I'm super excited. I've now finished college to so I have a week to kill, heres a few things I'll be doing in the build up to Christmas!

01. Organise - I recently purchased this super cute notebook from Home Sense and its just so perfect for creating lists and things. Make sure you know who you've bought for and who you haven't, if you've got enough wrapping paper and all that Christmasy jazz.

02. Plan Your Christmas Makeup - Okay so not everybody will want to do this, I mean its just a bit of makeup at the end of the day. But its exciting figuring out what lipstick you'll be wearing, yano? Hope this isn't just me haha!

03. Watch Christmas Movies - Stating the obvious a bit here. The week before Christmas is probably the best time to watch ALL the Christmas movies that ever existed! My favourites consist of Elf, Nativity and The Polar Express.

04. Decorate Your Room - Many people may have already done this but you can never be too Christmasy. If you've already got decorations up, find some more, go all out because theres no time like now to decorate as much as you want!

05. Get Out The Christmas Jumpers - I wish I had 7 Christmas jumpers to wear each day up until Christmas that'd be awesome. But if you have a few Christmas jumpers, of course theres no better time than this week to whip them out! I've got my Primark penguin one at the ready which I think I'll cosy up in this evening.

What are your plans for this week?

Its Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Today was the day the Christmas decorations went up - yay, finally! One of my favourite parts of the whole Christmas thing, so I just thought I'd share a few photos I took with you today.

I do actually have two trees in my house, on downstairs for all the family and one upstairs in my room, which is a little pink tree. Its so cute. So a few decorations are from there and a few from the family tree. Hope you enjoyed this small little Christmassy post!

Have you put up your Christmas decorations yet?

Christmas Break Reading

Christmas is a time for relaxing and having time to yourself. I thought I'd share what I'll be reading over the time I have off for Christmas.

The Night Circus. I heard Tanya Burr talking about this in one of her videos probably about a year or so ago and I never got round to buying it. But I recently finished The Girl On The Train and needed something new to read and remembered this. It seems kind of Christmas appropriate, I mean circus and all that. I've heard great things about it and I'm very excited to read it! Secondly, I picked up the December issue of Glamour magazine. I mean it was great that I got a free Clinique lipstick with this but I do love reading through magazines. If anybody has any other suggestions of good magazines to read over the Christmas break, please let me know!

What are you reading over the Christmas break?

Festive Full Coverage Base

Full coverage makeup is not something I wear on a daily basis - actually hardly ever. I think Christmas is a good time to go all out though so here is a full coverage face look for you all!

First of all I prime my face with the Body Shop Instablur Primer and put that all over my face, it works so well at making my makeup smooth on nicely. Secondly I go in with my Mac Pro Longwear Foundation in the shade NC15. Its quite a full coverage foundation as it is but if you want to really up the coverage I'd put on two layers. Once you've done this I use my Seventeen Stay Time Concealer in the shade extra fair (because I'm super pale) and dot this under my dark circles and any spots/blemishes. This is gives a really lovely coverage and is pretty cheap so its a win, win. Then finally to finish off the full coverage base, I use the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder. Just to set everything in place and make sure I'm not overly shiny, and there you have it!

What are your essentials for a full coverage base?

The Christmas Tag 2015

Whats blogmas without the Christmas tag? I love sharing what I love about Christmas - its such a happy time so who wouldn't? I tag everybody to do this because I love reading through other peoples, hope you enjoy!

01. What is your favourite Christmas movie/s?
How clique am I but of course my favourite Christmas movie is Elf. I think its pretty much everybody's favourite but I mean its hilarious and Buddy is just amazing haha. I could watch that on repeat throughout the whole of the festive season. However I'm making it my aim this year to watch all of the Home Alone movies.

02. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
I personally don't know anybody who opens their presents on Christmas Eve - so yeah I open mine on Christmas morning. But we do have a tradition where we don't open our 'under the tree' presents until after Christmas lunch/dinner. We have all our Santa presents in the morning haha.

03. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
This is such a hard one to answer because I love every Christmas but I do miss when I was younger opening all my stocking presents on my parents bed at about 6:00am. I was so excitable that I could barely sleep all night and as soon as it got to about 6 I'd run into their room and start jumping up and down with excitement haha!

04. Favourite festive food?
Oh this is tricky. I must say I love pigs in blankets, they remind me of Christmas dinner so much and they're so super yummy. But I do also love cinnamon biscuits because they just remind me of Christmas too. Anything with some form of spice in too - I will love!

05. Favourite Christmas gift?
This is so difficult as well ahh I've had some lovely gifts over the years. I remember getting a bike when I was about 7 or 8 and loving that. Or when me and my brother got a Nintendo Wii which was also such an amazing gift. Too many lovely gifts over the years.

06. Favourite Christmas scent?
This one is easy for me - cinnamon. I honestly can't get enough of it, I love cinnamon as it is but the smell around Christmas just makes it even better. I really must invest in a cinnamon Yankee Candle because I swear I'd be burning that 24/7 haha.

07. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
To be honest I actually don't. I never really do anything on Christmas Eve but wait for Christmas day haha. No opening of any presents, no nothing. So yeah, pretty boring!

08. What tops your tree?
We have always put the same angel on the top of the Christmas tree ever since I can remember. Never a star, always an angel.

09. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I can hardly remember this to be honest, probably a puppy or a dog. I always wanted one but my mum is allergic so I knew that'd never happen. But I always hoped and wished haha! Or maybe it was a TV for my bedroom because I always wanted one of those but never got one (and still to this day don't have one) so yeah, I can't quite remember but I'm pretty sure those were 2 on my list!

What are your Christmas traditions?

All That Glitters Makeup Look

Christmas time is always an excuse to go over the top with makeup, and glitter. I think a golden smoky eye can look so pretty for a party night out. Heres a little look you might want to try!

So the two products I'll be talking about are the Naked Smoky palette, which is insane and Mac Soft & Gentle highlighter - equally as gorgeous. For a smoky gold eye you're going to want to start off by taking a medium matte brown shade and putting that all over the lid. Then taking the shade 'Dirtysweet' from the Naked Smoky palette, run a small amount of that through the crease. Then go ahead and take the shade 'Radar' which is a gorgeous deep bronzy/gold shade. I personally like to take this on my ring finger and dab it across the eyelid - this way you get the highest amount of pigmentation. Then you can blend this in with a fluffy brush. To finish off the glittery eyes, take the shade 'High' which is a gorgeous champaign pink and dab that in the corners of your eyes to make them pop.

As far as highlighter goes I'm yet to find one as glittery as Mac Soft & Gentle. Don't worry though, it doesn't leave you with chunks of glitter on your cheeks! I take this on a fluffy brush, only use the tiniest amount and then sweep it over the tops of my cheek bones after doing bronzer. It gives you the prettiest glow, and quite a lot of shimmer. If you're all up for glitter and shimmer this Christmas, I think you'll love this look!

Do you have a favourite glittery makeup look?

Christmas Reds

Okay so I missed yesterdays blogmas post - I apologise, the winter lighting was not in my favour. I may miss a few more days due to being busy and the lighting, but I'm trying my best to get one up everyday! So I hope you enjoy todays!

Starting off with a goodie. I haven't heard many people talk about the colour rush balm's but they should be spoken about much more, they're so good. This is more of a pinky red, and looks stunning on the lips. It stays put for ages and dries to a semi matte I'd say. This would be perfect if you were going out for a Christmas party!

Who hasn't heard about Russian Red? One of the best reds I own. A gorgeous cool toned red in a matte formula. This doesn't dry out my lips either which is such a bonus. It stays put, with no smudging anywhere. Its a lovely day time red, and could easily be pulled off if you were going out in the evening with a gold smoky eye. If you buy any lip product from this post I'd highly recommend this one!

I actually spoke about this back last year when I did a very similar post to this. I love Tanya's range and everything is so pretty. This is in between a cool toned and warm toned red I'd say. Its perfect to wear on a day out, as its not too sticky nor will it smudge. You may need to reapply a few times after food and drink but you usually have to with most lip glosses. I think this is such a beautiful shiny red that is perfect for the festive season!

I honestly love this lipstick (I know I've said that about all of these here oops) but its so gorgeous. The main reason I love it is because its so wearable. If you think that you don't suit reds, I promise you, this will suit you. Its a warm toned red again and slightly on the pinky side. But its just stunning. It feels extremely comfortable on the lips which is the best part. It dries to a satin finish I'd say, not quite matte. So no dry lips (yay)! I'd really recommend picking this up if you have the spare £16 haha.

Whats you favourite red lip colour?

Things To Do Around Christmas

Most people get a Christmas break and sometimes its hard to think of things to do or you just don't want to go out because its just so bitterly cold. Well I've thought up a few festive ideas for you!

01. Winter Walk - Go for a walk. How obvious I know, but sometimes you just want to stay in, where its cosy and comfy. But if you wrap up super warm and venture out somewhere pretty it can be really refreshing. Take your camera along too - winter can be a great time for photos.

02. Christmas Markets - In the build up to Christmas, there are Christmas markets here there and everywhere! They're such a lovely place to visit if you want to get in the Christmassy mood. Usually theres festive foods, decorations and much more.

03. Visit Winter Wonderland - I'm sure pretty much everyone has heard of Winter Wonderland. A pop up Christmas event in Hyde Park, London. There are rides, ice skating, Christmasy food and so much more. Its free to go along, but costs if you'd like to go ice skating. Such a lovely thing to do with friends or family.

04. Christmas Baking - Who doesn't love ginger bread men? Theres such a wide variety of things you could bake around Christmas that you wouldn't be able to get away with in summer. Make a ginger bread house, or ginger bread men. Or cute little snowflake cookies!

05. Visit a Garden Centre - Garden centres are some of the best places to feel festive. Sometimes these places have reindeer there! They always have tons of Christmas decorations, lights, everything! It really gets you in the mood for Christmas, and I think they can just be a lovely place to visit one afternoon.

What do you like to do around Christmas time?

DIY Christmas Present Labels

What would blogmas be without one or two DIYs? This isn't a particularly difficult one - actually its pretty simple. I hope you enjoy this and maybe make some yourself!

So what you will need is:
01. Brown tags
02. Superglue
03. Alphabet beads
04. Ribbon

These are extremely simple to make but I think they're really cute and I think people will appreciate them when they go to open their gift you have given them. The first thing you need to do is find the correct letters to stick down onto your label. Then place them on top of your label in the order you'd like them (someones name) and get them in the right position. Then get your superglue and just dab a tiny amount on the back of the letter and stick it down onto your label. Repeat this for all the letters and voila, you've finished that part. Then just get your ribbon, cut it to the length you wish and feed through the hole at the top. Tie a knot and you're finished! You'll have a very cute, homemade 3D name tag for your Christmas gifts!

Will you be giving this a go?

Happy Blogmas 2015

So this year I decided to take up the challenge of blogmas! At first I wasn't keen on the idea because it seemed like a lot of work but I love Christmas and had a few ideas set out. So I'll be blogging every day up until Christmas day, yay!

There is a lot of posts lined up and hopefully I'll be able to keep it up the full 24 days and that everybody enjoys the posts! See you again tomorrow.

The 1975 Gig

The photos this week were taken on my phone unfortunately so the quality isn't quite as good. However I really wanted to share this on here to kind of document it. I went to see The 1975 on Friday night! It was an amazing experience so I thought I'd share a few photos with you.

My friend and I were so lucky to get as close as we were - we were practically at the barrier. We waited outside in the pouring rain for an hour to get in which really wasn't fun and I was honestly starting to freeze. We thought we were near the back but then more people started queueing up and it turned out were weren't. The venue was like a school gym hall, I think its used for basketball games usually. It was pretty full by the time The 1975 came on stage. Ratboy was the support act and to be honest they were really good. We waited a good two hours for The 1975 to come on though. But they started with their new song 'Love Me' and it was crazy. Their new aesthetic is amazing, so bright and colourful. They put on the best show and its something I will never forget.

Whats the best concert you've ever been to?

November Favourites

I haven't done a favourites post in such a long time - but there are so many new things I've been loving this month. Also, how are we nearly at the end of the year...its gone way too fast for my liking.

Sudocrem Skin Care Cream | £1.99
This product has been my saviour this month, my skin hasn't been cooperating and has really needed some help. I get terrible under the skin spots - those ones that you can't actually pop but are all red and irritated (ew). Anyway, I've been popping a bit of this on those spots before I go to bed and it reduces the redness and puffiness of the spot. Amazing.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Soothing Moisturiser | £9.50
So this is slightly ironic as this product was actually in one of my disappointing skincare posts a while back. But I dug this out of the back of my skincare cupboard and gave it another go. I have to say I don't really know why I found it disappointing first time round. It really helps the dry areas around my nose and really hydrates my skin. Loving this right now!

Collection Fast Stroke Eye Liner | £2.99
I really struggle with eyeliner and it takes a lot for me to find one that really works and that I love. Well I picked this one up as I'd heard so much hype around it and it was hardly going to break the bank was it? I have to say I'm so impressed - I wasn't sure I'd like it as I'm used to using liquid liner pens. But the formula is amazing, it lasts all day and is a really intense black.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist | £3.50
I have recently put a post up about this bad boy, you can read it here. I love this because its such a subtle nude that doesn't make me look like I have foundation lips or something. It sits nicely and is really glossy. I'd recommend picking this up - you can't go wrong with that price either!

Original Source Skin Quench Pineapple Shower Gel | £2.80
I really needed a new shower gel and I was browsing through Boots when I saw this. I remembered Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup mentioning this not too long ago, so I popped it in my basket. I love this because its just really simple and smells lovely. Who knew pineapple and coconut went so well together? Its also really cheap which is a bonus, and also vegan! Whats not to love?

What have you been loving this month?

The Body Shop Mango Set

I don't own too much from The Body Shop - but Christmas is coming up so I thought I'd share one of their sets that'd be great as a gift and also smells insane!

So in the set you get a shower gel, a body scrub, a body butter, bar of soap and a bath lily. The scent is truly amazing, if you like citrus scents or even mango for that matter, you'll really enjoy this! It all smells so good.

First off the shower gel. Probably not my favourite of the bunch, it kind of makes me feel itchy? Weird I know, but nonetheless its really lovely. It lathers up well and leaves you with that fresh mango scent hanging about for a while. Second up is the body scrub. Now I love a good body scrub and this is no exception. Again the scent is a complete bonus, but its a fine sugar scrub so its not too harsh on the skin, like a salt scrub. It gently exfoliates and my skin feels really soft afterwards. I'd definitely think about getting the full sized version of this - such a good one! Next the body butter. The Body Shop are known for their body butters, they have such a variety. Its so moisturising (obviously) and feels so nice on the skin, and soaks in really quickly. Again my favourite thing about this, is the smell lingers. Overall, this is such a lovely set and if you're thinking of Christmas presents for someone, this would be perfect!

Have you ever tried the mango range from TBS?

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

For ages I've been on the hunt for a eyeshadow primer, I do suffer with pretty oily eyelids meaning no eyeshadow lasts all day, which really sucks. I saw the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion on sale and had to snap it up!

I opted for the original version, because to be honest I wasn't that sure what the difference was from the others they have to offer. It comes in a reasonably sized tube, and has a doe foot applicator to apply onto the eyelids. So far I've been impressed with this - I used it before applying my Naked Smoky palette. I felt like my eyeshadow applied a lot better as well, no patchiness and was easier to blend into the crease. Since I've never tried any other eyeshadow primer I can't exactly compare it to anything, but so far so good. My eyeshadow definitely lasted longer, okay so maybe not ALL day but it was still clinging on until I came to take of my makeup at the end of the day.

Overall I'm actually really enjoying this product - it keeps my eyeshadow in place for long periods of time which is what I was looking for. It is a lot of money however - but thats Urban Decay for you! I'd recommend picking this up if you suffer with oily eyelids, or just want something to keep your eyeshadow in place.

Have you ever tried the UD Eyeshadow Primer?

My Go-To Nude Shades

I used to avoid nude shades previously because I thought my complexion was just too pale for them. However I've been loving these two lip colours recently so I thought I'd share them!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist | £3.50
I first heard about this when Gabby (Velvetgh0st) spoke about it in one of her videos a while back. I believe the packaging has been changed for these, and they've been made smaller and cheaper as a result. I'm so pleased I picked this up, because its the perfect everyday go-to nude. Its extremely subtle, and gives the loveliest shine to the lips. My only slight issue is that its a bit sticky, but you soon get used to it and it becomes unnoticeable on the lips.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob | £3.99
I love this lip liner so much. Its very different to the Soap & Glory offering, in the fact its matte and has a very waxy/creamy formula. Its a darker nude as well, and leans more to the pink end of the spectrum. I love this to line my lips before putting on any natural lip colour, or just filling in my lips fully with this. Again there is only one bad thing, it snaps off very easily. You just have to be careful when twisting it up that you don't do it too much. Overall I think its the perfect everyday darker nude!

What are your go-to nude shades?

Neutral Cream Moisture Gloss

I tend to stick to more neutral tones when it comes to lip products, or a nice plummy shade. But I have something slightly outside my comfort zone to talk about...and I actually really like it.

When Born Pretty got in contact with me asking to pick a few things out I knew I really wanted to try out a lipstick of some sort. I was browsing through and saw the Matt Sense Lip Stick Neutral Cream Moisture Gloss* (longest name I know). I was a bit confused as to whether these were matte lipsticks or creamy ones but I picked the shade 06 anyway as it looked like a lovely pinky/plum shade; something I wouldn't always go for. When it arrived I was a little surprised to see how bright the shade looked in the bullet. I tried it on, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't a matte formula but a creamy sheer one instead. The shade comes out as a very pinky purple shade on the lips, but doesn't look overpowering at all, it actually is a very subtle bold lip if that were ever a thing, haha!

This lipstick is so super creamy which I really love, it doesn't go patchy on the lips either which is always a bonus! It also has fabulous lasting power - I actually swatched this on my hand at first and it took me forever to get it off! I haven't worn this for a full day as of yet but I was impressed with the lasting power after a few hours of having it on my lips. A small top up after a bite to eat or drink and you're good to go. I'm going to a concert in a few weeks and I think I'm going to wear this there due to its subtlety yet vampy vibe. Also another thing to add - the packaging is so sturdy! I was really impressed with the quality for the price of the product! There are 12 shades to pick from in this range, from reds to dark plums! You can also get 10% off at Born Pretty with the discount code HEYH10.

What do you think of this lipstick?

Little Tube Of Wonder | Sudocrem

I'm pretty sure everybody has heard of Sudocrem before, a multi purpose cream that a lot of people think is mainly used on babies. Well you'll be pleased to hear it can actually do wonders for your skin!

Not until very long ago, I thought Sudocrem* just came in a tub and was a multi purpose cream, used on babies, rashes etc. I was wrong however, you can actually buy a tube of Sudocrem in Boots for about £1.99. I believe this little tube of goodness is actually targeted at just skincare problems. One thing I really love about this is how you can travel with it - like it says 'ideal for use at home or away'. Perfect if you travel a lot.

So, onto what I think of the product. I have actually used Sudocrem previously, when I was a bit younger and I'm not sure why I ever stopped using it. I have had a few troublesome spots recently, including a very nasty under the skin one on my neck. After doing my usual skincare routine, I covered the blemish in Sudocrem before I went to bed. I didn't rub it in, I just left it as it was covering the area of concern. I was so pleased to see by the morning it had gone down considerable amounts! Not completely gone, but it was much less irritated and also less noticeable. I was so pleased, that I don't think I'll ever use anything else to get rid of those horrible under the skin spots. If you want a quick fix, then I'd highly recommend using Sudocrem! Its so easy to use, and works very quickly on any concern you have. I'm really impressed by this and shall carry on using it for a very long time!

Have you ever tried Sudocrem?

Fuel For Your Day

I've always been told ever since I was tiny that breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. It fuels you for the day, gets you going. However it only really gives you fuel for the day if it isn't a bowl full of sugar. Thats why I've started trying and testing porridge. Also this is a kind of mental note to myself to eat more porridge and stop with that chocolate crunchy nut haha!

So first of all, what are the health benefits of porridge itself? According to Harvard University, eating whole grains such as oats is key to living longer. Porridge is a slow energy release 'meal' which means you won't be craving a chocolate bar about an hour after eating it. Alongside this, it helps to boost your energy levels and keeps you going for a longer period of time. There are many other benefits that come along with porridge, such as immunity boosting, muscle recovery etc. So whats not to love?

The porridge I use is from a packet, you empty the oats into a bowl, add milk and microwave for 2 minutes. Which is really quick and easy. Its plain porridge because flavoured ones can contain high amounts of sugar, which defeats the object. I don't really like it on its own, bit boring. So I add in quite a lot of cinnamon and mix it in. After I cut up a whole (small) banana and add that on top. Banana tastes so good with porridge, trust me! To top it off I add some almonds on top of that, because they're very good for you. And voila, you have a super healthy breakfast that will keep you full for a good few hours! I can also say this does taste really good, even if its appearance doesn't look the best haha!

Top 3 Contouring Brushes

Contouring is something thats grown rapidly over the past year or so, and I guess you could say I've jumped on the bandwagon. Its great if like me, you have no sign of cheek bones what so ever! So here are three of the brushes I use to give the best looking contour I can.

First up we have a brush that I'm hugely impressed with. It looks pretty huge, and well it is. But it really gets into the hallows of your cheeks to give you a definite contour. This brush is from BornPretty, its their Flat Contour Brush*. I can't explain just how soft this brush is as well, ridiculously soft which makes contouring even more worth it. I like to dab the brush into my Hoola Bronzer and sweep this into where my cheek bones would appear. It really helps to give you that hallowed cheekbone affect, such a good brush to use if you want to really give your face some definition. If you want to get 10% of on BornPretty then use my code HEYH10!

Second up is a pretty classic contouring brush. The Real Techniques Contour Brush. This comes in the core collection and it a really great little brush. At first when I wasn't so into makeup I thought this brush would be neglected and useless to me. Nonetheless, its had a lot of use out of it. I apologise that it hasn't been washed may I add...maybe that emphasises the use I get out of haha. Anyway this is great brush to give a strong contour and really lift those cheekbones again, this brush is the middle ground I'd say between the previous brush I showed and the one I'm about to talk about!

Finally we have a (very dirty may I add) Real Techniques Blush Brush. I know this is meant for blush, but do people really use brushes for their fit purpose? I certainly don't anyway, but this is great for a subtle contour/bronzed look. Its a well loved brush of mine and probably the one I use most for an all over bronzed look. If contour scares you a bit I'd say try this brush out first because it really works for a subtle bronzy glow.

Whats your favourite brush for contouring?

A Change In The Weather

Surprise post today since I don't usually post on a Thursday but I took some photos of this evenings sky and lit a Jo Malone candle (okay so its my Mums candle). But anyway I really want to get into posting more of my photography which is what I really love, still expect beauty posts though. I thought what better time to start with these types of posts than now?

Today's weather was particularly disgusting - grey and gloomy. My least favourite type of weather, I'm just not a fan. I suppose I don't mind so much if I'm in the safety of my own home with a candle burning and have the heating on. However todays gross weather turned into some pretty cool photo opportunities. The sky turned a very off yellow colour then into this very odd pinky/purple shade. Yes the photo is unedited and the sky genuinely looked like that - which is pretty cool if you ask me. So despite winter being my least favourite season of them all, turns out it can produce some pretty cool photos. I hope the weather perks up soon though, its a mood killer. A girl needs her sunshine haha! I hope you enjoyed this type of post, expect more coming in the near future!

A Mini Ikea Haul

About a week ago I took a trip to Ikea mainly for some new furniture. I got a little carried away and picked up a few other things for my room.

First of all I picked up a Skurar Candle Holder - I'm sure loads of people have seen these before. I do actually own one already to hold my makeup brushes but I just had to pick up another one. I'm using this one to hold my little metal fairy lights which actually aren't from Ikea, but from Wilko. They were such a bargain! I think this looks really pretty. Second up is a Sinnlig, which obviously is a candle. This does actually have a scent and its heavenly. It doesn't specifically say what the scent is but I believe is something like sea salt. At only 85p its a win win situation. Lastly we have a Fejka and Socker. Probably my favourite things in this little haul. The grass is artificial so thats good for me since I've managed to kill one of my cacti already..who does that?! I think this is going to add a little pop of colour into my very white and grey room. I also love the pot I bought to put it in - fitting in with my grey colour scheme.

Have you bought anything from Ikea lately?

Nails Inc For Glamour

I do believe that this is Octobers Glamour edition - however I just had to blog about the collaboration with Nails Inc. Look how gorgeous that pink shade is!

There were four shades available to collect in this months Glamour, I think they were a pink, red, black or an off white. I opted for the pink because I don't own anything this bright in my collection. I've never actually had a nail polish from Nails Inc. Lily Pebbles and Vivianna Does Makeup always rave about them - so I jumped at the chance when I saw they were featured in Glamour. I can see why they rave about them so much, they apply so well and don't require too many coats. To me this is a unique pink shade - a very hot pink. I love it and I've warmly welcomed it into my nail polish collection! Short and sweet post today folks - just wanted to give this lovely nail polish a mention.

Have you tried Nails Inc before?
