Mac Paintpot | Frozen Violet

I've been eyeing up the mac paint pots for a very long time now, and I'd heard how good they are and certain shades people have raved about etc. So finally, I bought one to see if they were really as good as lots of people had made out for them to be. I went for the shade 'Frozen Violet' which is a subtle purple shade, with brown under tones. Thats the best way I can describe it. Its also a shimmer, with a LOT of glitter in it; I personally love that. Its a super pigmented, and stays on all day and really doesn't budge at all. I went for this colour opposed to a more matte skin toned colour paint pot, because I own no darker eye shadows; so this was a good opportunity to do so. Anyway I just wanted to share this with you all as I've never seen this paint pot colour before and thought it deserved some recognition!

Do you own a mac paint pot?

The Lip Balm That Beats Most

We all know that cracked and dry lips are such a struggle throughout the winter time! I think I have the solution. Vaseline. The most simple and old fashioned lip therapy, I know I know. But it works! I don't think its worth going on the hunt for an expensive lip balm, when this is super cheap and works amazingly. I always apply this to my lips before I go to bed and I wake up with such soft lips, I think its the best. It moisturizes your lips and gets rid of any dry patches, which is such a plus. Not much more to say about this, except it works wonders! I just wanted to get this little product a bit more recognition because it helps me out so much. Sorry for the short post today guys, better stuff up soon.

My Top 3 Foundations

I'm definitely not a person to have a staple foundation and stick to it, I love to swap and change. I've come to the conclusion these three foundations have to be my favourite! I've put them in price order, starting from the most expensive. Personally I don't think you need to spend THAT much of a good foundation when some drugstore brands do such good ones; as you'll see.

Mac Pro Longwear - I purchased this over Christmas because I'd eyeing it up for a while and I wanted to see how good it really was. Despite the price, everything about this foundation I love! It has more of a matte finish, which personally I prefer because I have such combination skin (sigh). It blends really easily, and as you may know Mac have such an amazing skin tone range with their foundations, so its so easy to get a colour that matches you perfectly. All in all, this foundation is worth the price and I'd recommend it if you have combination/oily skin.

L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint - I've already done a post on this, which you can read here. I love this foundation because it turns from the most runny liquid formula, to powder when blended. It honestly feels so weightless and takes about 2 minutes to apply and look perfect! I think this would suit oily skin more than dry, however I'm sure it would work both ways. The only bad thing about this is there is hardly any range of skin tones, I have the lightest shade and thats still slightly too dark, however the foundation is truly amazing!

Rimmel Match Perfection - This is almost a cult classic in the beauty world now for sure, its been around for ages. This is my second bottle of this foundation, and I never seem to run out of foundation that quickly. For the price of this I'd recommend it to everyone! I also think this is a perfect foundation if you're starting out with make up, because its easy to get the correct colour I feel, and its definitely not cakey at all! This is such a suitable foundation for both oily and dry skin types, an all round winner for me.

New Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Maybe you're sick of seeing the new Benefit Roller Lash on your feed by now, but I love hearing what EVERYBODY has to say about a new release! The photos you see are a sample size of the new roller lash mascara, that came with the magazine Elle. When I heard that they were doing this I had to go on the hunt for one immediately. I've been looking for a new mascara for ages now because ones I've tried recently just haven't been good enough.

Firstly, the actual packaging of the roller lash has a hair roller type tube as you probably all know. The sample size does not have this unfortunately, however this doesn't effect the mascara inside! I personally really like the curved wand with the shorter bristles, it makes it easier to get right from the roots of your lashes to the very tips! Already I find it better than They're Real, I found that they're real crumbled throughout the day and I'd find bits of mascara in my eyes, and it was super irritating! This one does not do that at all. It gives really good length, but not as much volume as they're real. But it doesn't claim to give volume, so fair enough. I like the length it gives your lashes, and the fact its not as stiff and crumbly as they're real. I definitely need to keep using this to make my mind up fully, but so far so good with this mascara!

Current Favourite Lip Combination

First of all I apologise for the lack of posts again recently, I'm trying to find time to fit them in with all this school work (sigh). Anyway, I'm back today and wanted to share the lip combination I have been LOVING.

The lip pencil I have been loving is Mac Burgundy. I have never seen a post in this before, or have I heard anyone talk about it. I stumbled across it in Mac when I was searching for a new lip pencil. Its a dark burgundy shade (of course, due to the name) and is so gorgeous. I do wear this on its own from time to time, as I love how pigmented it is and how it stays on the lips virtually all day. Now the lipstick I have loved to pair this with is Mac Plumful. You might be thinking that plumful is a much lighter shade than the lip pencil, but somehow the two work so well together. Plumful isn't actually too much lighter than burgundy. How I like to use them is, line my lips with burgundy and just use my finger to lightly smudge in the harsh lines, then go in with plumful and they just seem to work perfectly together! I would really recommend both of these amazing lip products, I think they're amazing.

Q&A a Day

I know what you're thinking, another post on this book. But I HAD to do a post on this, because its honestly the best thing I've ever bought. If you haven't heard anything about this, what it is, is a 5 year diary. Each day it asks you a different, unique question, where you answer over 5 years. I think its the most amazing idea, because as the years go by you can see how your answers have changed and how you personally have changed. I started this, this year so I still have the 5 years to go, and I'm so excited to see how my views and opinions change over the years. The book itself is actually gorgeous, it has gold edges to the book which makes it look so pretty to have in your room. There isn't much more I can say about this amazing little book, but you can purchase it off of Amazon for about £10, I think? Its definitely worth it and such a nice thing to look back on over the years!

The Dream Cream

I've been wanting to do this post for a while now and honestly I've just kept forgetting! You may be thinking 'dream cream, really?' but I cannot get enough of this stuff, its done wonders! And this product is Nivea Creme. As far as I'm aware, this was one of Nivea's first products they ever brought out, back decades ago! I'm pretty sure this is a well known product by almost everyone in the beauty world, however I haven't seen many 'reviews' as such on it. I have read things in magazines and places about this stuff, and apparently some people have found it works just as well as high end creams/moisturizers, and that wouldn't surprise me to be honest. At £3.39, can you really go wrong?

Personally I like to use this as a face moisturizer, I think its perfect for the winter time. The consistency of the cream is very thick, and can come across with a greasy texture. I understand this wouldn't be for everyone, especially oily skinned people. However, I had such trouble with dry skin around my nose area and no moisturizer would make it budge, as hard as I tried. When I started to use this, I noticed such a difference almost instantly. It hydrates dry skin like no other, so if you suffer with dry skin I know this is a cream for you! Obviously this isn't just for your face, and can be used as a body moisturizer also, which I'm sure it would work just as well. I don't think I'll end up using this in the summer time due to its thickness, but wherever dry skin pops up, you can bet this will be out!

Have you ever tried the Nivea Creme?
