Lush Dirty Springwash

My love for Lush products just grows each time I go there. My last trip to Lush was a brief one, but I found this little gem. I hadn't come across it before and the colour for one, really caught my eye. So obviously I had to pick it up.

Scent
This is a super minty, fresh smelling scent. The minty smell is really overpowering; but definitely in a good way! If you want to feel refreshed after a bath/shower this is the shower gel you're looking for. You'll come out feeling squeaky clean, I guarantee! Lush describe that it will 'Leave you feeling minty fresh and alert'. Which is the perfect description in my eyes.

Texture/Feel
I find all shower gel textures are different, for example some can be really creamy and thick and others very light and runny. Dirty Springwash is very much a thin, runny texture. I think this helps add to the feel of it being light and fresh. It feels so lovely to apply onto the skin, very smooth and refreshing in the shower or bath.

Overall
Overall, I am really in love with this product. Who knew you could love a shower gel so much? I love the feeling it gives when you step out the shower, so refreshed and new. I think its a great shower gel to start your day with, making you feel ready for the day ahead! I love the colour of this shower gel also, it looks super pretty sitting in your bathroom. I also really like how this is a versatile product, you can use it as a shower gel or hair gel; so clever. You can buy Dirty Springwash in 100ml for £4.75, 250g for £9.50 or 500g for £15.95. I'd definitely recommend you give this a smell next time you're in Lush, and maybe even pick it up. I love it.

Subtle Spring Nails

Who doesn't love a good spring nail colour? I've picked a few subtle colours from my ever growing stash of nail varnishes, for this spring. I've personally been loving these colours and colours similar recently, hopefully this will give some inspiration to you guys!

My first pick of the bunch is a lovely nude. The nude I've picked is by Topshop in Arabesque. This is the perfect happy medium in between a true nude and a pinky nude. When you're not feeling a bright nail, I think a nice nude is just the perfect thing to go for. This one is absolutely gorgeous and Topshop nail varnishes are so good. My second pick is by Rimmel in Mind the Gap, Victoria. I love this because it reminds me of the perfect blue sky. It reminds me of happy times, which is always nice. The perfect blue in my opinion. Onto the next, now we have a pastel mint here. I don't think I could have done this post without one, haha. Its the BarryM Gelly Hi Shine in Sugar Apple. This is such a bright, yet not to vibrant nail varnish. Not much more to say about this, just a lovely colour. Lastly, probably my favourite is by Topshop again called Venus Fly Trap. Such a cool name. This is a really amazing green shade, I can't describe how lovely this looks. I know green isn't for everyone, but this is just too good. I'd recommend checking this out if you're in Topshop having a browse.

Botanics Invigorating Face Scrub

I'm no expert in skincare, and I'd been looking for an exfoliator for a while but didn't know where to start. I was browsing Boots and this caught my eye, I'd tried some stuff from Botanics before so I picked this up to try. For around £2 you can't go wrong anyway.

There are definitely pros and cons to this product, but I can't complain too much for a small price tag. First of all, lets start with the positives. The smell of this is so lovely, as it should as its part of the botanics range. It smells fresh and slightly floral. It claims to instantly mattify the skin, which I must say I did notice once I'd washed this off, there was minimal shine on my face which is such a plus as I have terribly oily skin. It really lives up to what it says it does, and I think it helps tone down the oiliness in my skin for a short period of time. However, the negatives to the product. It does say 'invigorating face scrub', and when it says invigorating there is no lie there. It was really quite harsh on my skin, it almost felt like it was scratching my skin with the small exfoliating beads. Which was actually quite uncomfortable. It was just a bit too harsh for my liking, however I liked that it made my skin feel smooth after washing off so I might just be able to bare the painful scratchy feeling.

Have you tried anything from the botanics range?

3 Healthy Snacks I've Been Loving

There are so many things to read about having a healthy lifestyle these days, whats good for you and whats really not etc. I've tried and tested some things, for example green smoothies which to be honest with you, I'm not a fan of. Along with almond milk, again not such a big fan. However, these are three things I am a fan of and having been enjoying as a healthy snack lately! Also, these are all vegan too! Enjoy.

Almond Butter - I was hesitant to try this as my experience with almond milk was far from appealing, but this is something totally different. This is such a great alternative to peanut butter (as I hate peanut butter) and tastes super yummy! It is great to eat on toast, rice cakes and you can even add it into milkshakes. Also cutting up an apple and spreading it over that tastes super yummy. Even if you're not a peanut butter fan, I can guarantee you will like this!

Almonds - I think I'm just going almond crazy at the moment, but they taste so good. These are such a good snack to have whilst you're doing work, homework, revision, whatever. These are great because they're sweet, so instead of snacking on chocolate you could be snacking on these which are 10x better for you. Your body will appreciate it. Obviously don't eat these if you have a nut allergy or anything, I know thats obvious but just putting it out there just in case, haha.

Chocolate Covered Rice Cakes - As much as I love normal rice cakes, they can get abit boring and samey. These dark chocolate covered rice cakes are just the most amazing lightweight snack when you're craving something chocolatey and sweet. They're quite low in fat and sugar, so they're not particularly bad for you. I could easily go through a packet a day of these, they taste incredible. So if you enjoy rice cakes, then you'll certainly love these ones.

Disappointing Products #1

This is the first time I've done a disappointing products post, I feel like they can be really negative and I love talking about products I've been loving, so this is a bit different. However, its always good to get the opposite opinion. I have four products that I found to be pretty disappointing. Please don't judge on my personal opinions because a lot of people may love these products, this is just how I've found them. I hope this could potentially be helpful.

Seventeen Cheek Stamp - This isn't so much the product, just the packaging. I did a post a long time ago about this, foolishly I did a review when I'd hardly tried it, (silly me). Essentially the packaging has a stamp on one side, with a spring in the lid so you can literally stamp the blusher, which is in the other end of the packaging. I find it fiddly to try and get the stamp to pick up enough product on. Sometimes the spring gets stuck and you can't even reach the product, and its all a bit to much effort really. However, I do love the colour of the blush. Just annoying packaging.
Benefit Benetint - I do only have the sample size of  this, but I have tried this both on my cheeks and on my lips, both equally as bad to be honest with you. When you put it on your cheeks as a cheek tint you have about 2 seconds to try and blend it in before it dries, and then you're left with  a bright red mark smeared across your cheek that takes a lot of scrubbing to get off. Then on my lips, it sort of just sinks in and you're left with your original colour lips. It also gathered under my top lip and stained underneath it, and again I couldn't get it off for the life of me, more scrubbing. Very irritating.
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer - Again, I don't hate the product, I actually am quite fond of it, great coverage. Just the packaging, again unfortunately. It has a brush like applicator on the end so you really have to squeeze the tube before anything comes out. Its really hard to squeeze product out onto this silly little brush thing, and it gets awfully messy.
Benefit They're Real Mascara - I couldn't 100% get on with this mascara at all. I love how much volume it gives my lashes and the length is incredible. However, it is a complete nightmare to remove at the end of the day. The last thing I want to be doing at the end of a long day is scrubbing at my eyes until they get irritated. Another thing about this, is throughout the day I would find little clumps of mascara in my eye. Small bits just crumble off into my eye and it get extremely irritating. I definitely could have done with out that. If it wasn't so crumbly, and hard to get off I would have loved this. Definitely a Benefit Roller Lash fan.

Current Skin Care Saviours

Its been a real struggle trying to figure out what works for my super annoying skin. I have extreme combination skin, for example I have dry patches, but with oiliness over the top of the dry patches. How does that even make sense?! However, I have found two products that have helped to keep my skin calm, and helped out with my strange skin troubles.

Bio-Oil - I'm sure everybody has seen bio-oil, and most likely used it. If not, basically its just an oil that can be applied onto scars, stretch marks, acne, you name it. A multi purpose oil. What I've found this works best for on me is getting rid of spot scarring. I'll pop a spot, and then I'm just left with this lovely red mark on my face for months after. This is really helping to fade those scars quickly. It sinks into the skin nicely, and doesn't feel greasy at all. I'd really recommend this if you suffer from scarring after getting rid of spots.
Botanics Matifying Gel Cream - A long while back I did a brief post on the 'botanics' range in Boots. Anyway, after a long time of this sitting at the back of my bathroom cabinet I decided I'd stop neglecting it and give it a proper go and see what it was all about. I am so glad I did. If you suffer with oily skin, you're most likely going to love this! Its a gel cream, that you just pop over the most oily parts on your face and it mattifies and takes away the oiliness. Its not at all drying, it sounds like it would be, but I promise its not; its actually quite moisturizing as well as being mattifying. I'd really recommend this as well if you suffer with oily skin, I've been loving it and its super cheap too!

L'oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim

I've been searching for a new eyeliner for absolutely ages and I've never got round to actually buying one because to be honest they're quite frightening, or is it just me that thinks that? Anyway, I finally spotted this beauty in Boots and had to pick it up and give it a go. Now I'm not sure if this is new to L'oreal, as it was with all the other new products but I couldn't find anything about it online. Someone let me know.

So this retails for £6.99 which I think is so reasonable and such a good price for this little gem of an eyeliner. The thing that really caught my eye was the 'perfect slim' part, and I am not a lover of really thick eyeliner, I like a nice thin precise line. So if you also like that you'll love this. I previously attempted to use Benefit Push Up Liner, which looking back now was such a struggle to use, especially to create a cat eye flick. On my first attempt with using this I managed to create a pretty decent cat eye, so I was immediately impressed! What I also really liked was that if I made a slight mistake it was very easy to quickly get rid of it with my finger before it dried. If that makes any sense, haha. Also as you can see from the picture, it has a grip to hold onto when applying which is SO helpful, so the pen doesn't slip out of your hand and it helps you to create a more precise line. Its definitely not a pain to get off either, you're not scrubbing at your eyes for ages until they get all irritated and sensitive. Overall this is an amazing drugstore eyeliner, definitely worth a try for any new comer to eyeliner, or even if you're an eyeliner fanatic! Love, love, love.

Healthy & Tasty Smoothie Bowl

This is my first proper attempt at making a smoothie bowl, and to be honest I completely made up my own recipe for this, nevertheless it turned out to be super tasty! So here is how I made my delicious smoothie bowl, let me know if you have a go at this; its so easy to make.

You will need:
-A blender of some sort (obviously)
-Mixed berries (better if frozen, however doesn't matter too much)
-Mango (frozen or not frozen is fine)
-Plain low fat yogurt
-Almonds (or any nuts of your choice)
-Granola (or any topping of your choice)
-Orange juice

First of all, you will need to take about two handfuls or so of the frozen berries into your blender, then adding the mango in, this is all personal preference really, add as much or as little as you like. Then add a tiny bit of orange juice just to give a bit of liquid to the frozen fruit. After this you'll want to go in and add in your yogurt. Again, this is all personal preference, however the more yogurt the better as it makes the mix thicker and easier to eat. Then you want to crush up about 4 or 5 almonds and add them into the mixture, just to add a bit of taste and almonds are very good for you. Then add another drop or two of orange juice to get the mixture going. Then blend! You will find the mixture to be quite thick, almost like a sorbet texture, which is just what you want. Pop it into your bowl and then add your toppings of choice! I chose to add a few almonds on one side, and then granola on the other side and it tasted heavenly. And there you have your super yummy and healthy smoothie bowl, enjoy!

Have you ever tried a smoothie bowl?

April Favourites

Aprils over already, this years going by way to fast for my liking. Anyway I have gathered a few things I've been using and enjoying this month, enjoy! Ps - Thankyou SO much for 50 followers on bloglovin' it means a lot to me, I hope you all keep enjoying my blog.

No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Stick in 'Cool Mink' - I've mentioned this in my 'Brand Focus' post, which you can read here. This is the most gorgeous purple brown toned shadow stick, which is super cream and really blendable. If you're looking for a budget alternative to the By Terry Ombre Blackstar shadow sticks, these are the one to go for! Will be using this well on into the summer.

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 'Seductive Pink' - These have been a real hype the past few months and I managed to finally pick one up. I've done a whole post dedicated to this, (shameless self promo sorry) you can read that here. This is the perfect pink for spring time, and just gives a lovely glow to your cheeks. Also lasts super long, which I love. Similar to the Hourglass Ambient Blushes I believe, also the Milani baked blushes too.

Cath Kidston Hand Cream - I love this hand cream. At the end of the day when my hands are feeling a little bit dry I just reach for this. Its not sticky what so ever, and sinks into your hands so nicely so you can quickly get back to your phone or laptop, haha. It smells like roses as well which is really lovely and reminds me of summer time.

Primark Animal Print Sunglasses - Every year I'm on the hunt for a new pair of sunglasses, I usually go to Primark as they have such a good selection for such a bargain. These were only £3, and I'm in LOVE. I love the animal print, and I'm a big fan of rounded sunglasses. Since its been so sunny recently I've been wearing these so much. Such a bargain for such a lovely pair of sunglasses.

Depop App - I've literally been obsessing over this app this month. Depop is an app where you can sell your old stuff, things you don't want, clothes, makeup, electricals, anything you care to think of! I've been trying to sell some clothes that I've hardly got any wear out of, and I also love browsing through other peoples Depops to see what they've got to offer. If you want to check that out, my user name is '@itsluce'. I'd recommend this app if you're trying to make a bit of money.

What have you been loving this month?
