The Sunday Chatter #11

Sunday, 29 May 2016

Hey folks, back with another Sunday chatter but I want to change how I do these posts, instead of just telling you how my week has been I want to share what I've been enjoying in the week too...

Sooo I finished my exams this week, can I get a hallelujah?! That means more time for fun things which I'm very much looking forward to, plus I'm so glad I don't have to revise anymore. Finishing my exams meant I only had college two days this week so it was nice to have a relax on the other days. I'm also off to Manchester this week, which I mentioned a while ago and I'm so excited to explore because I've never been before. Also watch out for some blog posts going up about my little trip there!

I've been loving a few bits and pieces this week, the first being Louis Theroux Documentaries. He's basically a journalist guy who travels to odd places, usually in America and looks into peoples life. Quite hard to explain, but if you have Netflix type in Louis Theroux and you will find all the interesting documentaries he's done! I've also been loving Ariana Grande's new album, especially the song Into You - so catchy and upbeat. I'm not usually an Ariana fan but this album is pretty damn good. The last thing I've loved this week is Savannah Brown's 'Romanticizations of mental illness' video. I love ALL of Savannah's videos but this is so important and I think everybody should give it a watch!

Warm Eyeshadow Look Using The Zoeva Cocoa Blends Palette

Friday, 27 May 2016

There's a certain eyeshadow look I've been loving so much recently, so much so I just had to share it...

I'm sure everybody has heard of the Zoeva Cocoa Blends Palette, its definitely done the rounds on many blogs! Theres three eyeshadows in particular that I've been loving together recently and I just wanted to share with y'all, so here we are.

The swatches from left to right are - Substitute For Love, Freshly Toasted and Warm Notes. These are in order of how I apply them. I tend to use a big brush to apply Substitute For Love all over the lid, this is a gorgeous very warm toned brown, almost verging on the side of being orange. I blend this in and then go in with Freshly Toasted through the crease. This compliments the first shade so well, as its again a very warm toned brown but a lot darker. I blend this in with my Sigma blending brush. Finally to give the look a bit of a pop, I add in Warm Notes. This is a beautiful glittery cranberry shade, which is so highly pigmented. I take a small amount of this on my brush and add it to the outer corners of my eyes and follow it up into my crease slightly. This really brings the other two shades together and they all compliment each other so well. And then I'm finished! Sometimes I will add eyeliner if I'm feeling brave, or a dark eyeshadow along the lash line to give it a bit more definition. I think this is a very wearable look for both day or night (I've done both so far), so yeah there we have it!

Have you ever tried the Zoeva Cocoa Blends Palette?

Keeping Moisturised

Sunday, 22 May 2016

Moisturising is something I can be so lazy with but lately I've tried so hard to get on top of it...

I didn't really realise the importance of moisturising until recently when my skin became pretty darn dry. Especially on my face anyway, so that prompted me to start moisturising the rest of my body. So here are my favourite products at the moment for moisturising!

This stuff is incredible. I mentioned this in my current skincare routine post but I definitely think it needs another mention. I'd been looking for a new moisturiser for the longest time but couldn't find anything that sounded like it'd suit my skin. This moisturiser helps to balance out your skin, which I needed as I have combination skin. I love how light weight this is and how quickly it sinks into the skin. It smells like lavender as well which is so lovely, its also a very natural product which is a bonus. This has helped to even out my skin and give great moisture!

Ahh Soap & Glory. This brand is so wonderful and everything I've owned from them has been fabulous, and this is no exception. Its got the typical S&G scent which I really like, but sometimes it does end up smelling a bit odd once its sunk into the skin, is this just me or? But that aside this feels very rich and moisturising and is just a great body moisturiser in general!

I love this stuff. Keeping your lips moisturised is just as important (in my opinion) as anywhere else on your body. I can't stand having dry or flakey skin on my lips, its just a no go. So to prevent that, I apply this across my lips every night before I go to bed. I then wake up to super moisturised lips which makes me very happy. I'd really recommend this if you struggle with dry lips, its especially great in the winter months!

This is pretty new to me, but I saw a blogger post about this last year and I never got round to picking it up. When I was browsing Boots it caught my eye and I remembered how much I wanted to try it! This is essentially an oil moisturiser so much lighter than the Soap & Glory offering. Also a LOT quicker to apply that a cream moisturiser, which I'm all about I must say. Just a few sprays across your body with a tiny bit of rubbing in and you're good to go my friend. This is also vegan which is just so cool, its always good when a product does no harm to animals and is cruelty free. I love this and it smells really lovely too.

What are your favourite moisturising products?

Come Along With Me | Bognor Regis & BBQ

Friday, 20 May 2016

I thought this was a nice follow on from my previous post, as the pictures were taken at Bognor...

Last Sunday we made a trip down to Bognor Regis to cheer my Dad, Uncle & Cousins on as they were doing the Bognor 10K Road Race. This was the third year we'd made the trip down so I thought I'd document it this year. It was an early start, 8:30 to be specific, so its safe to say I was pretty tired. It wasn't even sunny when we left which didn't put me in the best mood but luckily as the runners got going the sun made an appearance, and I was happy again haha.

After the run had finished we went and had a family BBQ which is always nice. It was both my cousins birthday's as well so there was two giant doughnut cakes...oh my gosh these were the most delicious things ever. I apologise for the photo of the burgers, I didn't actually have one myself as I'm not the biggest meat eater (and also plan on going vegetarian in the near future) so I stuck to a halloumi burger. Oh and one more thing, look how adorable their cat is?! I got a few snaps of him and couldn't resist sharing at least one. I enjoy posts like this as I get to show a bit of my photography, which I'm really passionate about.

What did you get up to last weekend?

Firmoo Sunglasses And Giveaway

Wednesday, 18 May 2016

I am such a sunglasses lover and theres nothing I love more than getting a gorgeous new pair of sunglasses for the oncoming summer...

I hadn't heard much about the brand Firmoo, but had seen a handful of other bloggers with a pair of their sunglasses/glasses. Since I'm quite the sunglasses hoarder, I wanted to try a pair for myself. I usually opt for black, brown or even tortoiseshell so this time I decided to go with something a bit more colourful...pink! I adored this pair* of sunglasses so much, I don't own anything like them. I've always been a fan of the cool coloured reflective lenses, but never found a pair that suited me, until now. The lenses have a rose gold tint to them, which ties in perfectly with the pink frames.

The quality is really great, and so is the fit. They come with the most gorgeous case as well which surprised me. Its a map print which is really vintage looking and very trendy indeed. Alongside this it comes with a posh little cloth to clean your glasses with, and its even pink to match the glasses, how adorable! I recently wore these on my little trip to the beach and they protected my eyes wonderfully, and looked super cool if I do say so myself.

Firmoo have also kindly asked me if I would like to host a giveaway to win a pair of their eyeglasses (this does not include sunglasses), you can have a look at the range of glasses available to win here

The Sunday Chatter #10

Sunday, 15 May 2016

Back with another Sunday chatter post...

I haven't been absent from this space but posts have been lacking more than usual, so I apologise for that. Exams begin next week, and although I only have two, I have actually (what a miracle) been doing some form of revision for them. I've been doing other bits and pieces as well that has meant I just have't had time to sit down and write a post. However, I can't wait for my exams to be done because I plan on doing loads of posts throughout summer and thats really exciting!

As you're reading this, I'll be on my way to Bognor Regis, for the Bognor 10K which my Dad will be running. I'll have a post going up about that soon, and I'm so excited because its the beach and I love being by the beach! I'm so happy we've actually seen an appearance from the sun as well recently, its amazing how a bit of sun can lift your mood!

I also want to mention a few blogs/bloggers I've been loving recently, its always nice to give a quick shoutout to the ones you've been loving! So I've been absolutely loving Katie's blog, Katie is a fantastic photographer who really inspires me actually. Her blog consists of food, beautiful travel photographs and much more. I've also been loving Daisy's blog, very beauty based and I love her style of writing, and her pictures are gorgeous. I'd recommend if you're a beauty lover like myself! Finally, I've also been loving Hannah's blog. I feel as though I can relate to Hannah so much, (kind of secretly wanna be her bestie), I love reading her more chatty posts but also love the beauty/fashion side of her blog as well. Theres a bit of everything and I just love that! Of course theres loads more blogs I've been loving but these are my top 3 that spring to mind, much love girlies!

What are you up to this Sunday?

Vichy Dermablend Range

Wednesday, 11 May 2016

I've never tried any Vichy products before, yet heard a lot of good things about them, so when I had the chance to try a couple of bits from the Dermablend range I couldn't say no...

I was really excited to try this as I've been looking for a new foundation for a really long time. I have this in the shade 05 Porcelain, which is the lightest shade and still slightly too dark for me (I am the definition of pale). Although with a bit of blending its all good and works really nicely on my skin. This gives a medium coverage I'd say, however I think its build-able up to a full coverage. I have a combination skin type, with a fairly oily T-Zone and a few dry patches across my cheeks and nose and this seems to work so well with that! It didn't noticeably cling to any of my dry patches, and it didn't come across as oily looking across my T-Zone area, just gave a nice even finish. I'm really impressed with this foundation and would recommend to any skin type actually.

I kept meaning to pick up a loose setting powder, but kept forgetting as it just wasn't top of my list so I was very happy to receive this. This is a loose white powder, and you get a really decent amount so I can see this lasting me a very long time. I use a big fluffy brush with this, and dust it lightly across my whole face, focusing on my T-Zone especially. I do believe this has helped to keep my makeup on that little bit longer, when paired with a setting spray especially. It feels very weightless on the skin as well, and doesn't give a cakey finish, because I'm not very fond of cakey finishes. All in all, this is a brilliant little setting powder.

Current Skincare Routine

Friday, 6 May 2016

I think this is the third skincare routine post I've done, I kind of have an obsession with skincare products and love trying out new bits..

You've probably heard this product being raved about a billion times but now but it is really good. I use this to take off my makeup most days, if not this then it'll be my Garnier Micellar Water. This breaks down makeup so nicely, and turns from a creamy formula to a sort of oil based one. You just wipe this away with the muslin cloth and your face is left feeling so silky soft.

I think this has featured a few times on my blog but I love it. Kiehl's products are known for being pretty amazing and of course this is no exception. I like to double cleanse because it makes me feel more clean. This cleanser is non foaming, which I heard is better for your skin? Anyway you just apply this to a damp face then wash off with warm water. It doesn't have a scent to it either which is nice and it helps to get rid of any makeup that might still have been looming from the last cleanse.

I recently dedicated a whole post to this wonder product, which you can read here. I don't use this product daily, obviously because it would damage the skin. About once a week I will use this across my nose and T-Zone. My T-Zone tends to get quite oily so this helps to control those oils, but around the edges of my nose gets very dry so it also helps to get rid of any dry skin. This works like a treat and smells really good.

A product never to have been mentioned on this blog and I'm not sure why because I love this stuff! Before this I'd never used a serum as I didn't see the point and to be honest, I was lazy. I'd seen posts about Nip + Fab and heard they were good so had a little search around. I came across this on Amazon and it was about half the original price, so I snapped it up. This smells like grapefruit which is just insane and it feels so refreshing on the skin. I apply this before moisturising and let it sink in. I think its helped to make my skin look a bit more lively, but I just enjoy applying as its so refreshing.

The newest edition to my skincare routine. I picked this up off Feel Unique when it had some money off and I couldn't be happier with it. I'd been looking for a new moisturiser for so long as none had worked that well for me. I spotted this and it claims to balance out your skin, and is aimed towards a combination skin type, which is what I have. So far so good with this, its a very lightweight moisturiser which I really love. It sinks in within seconds of applying it which is such a bonus as I hate waiting around for product to sink into the skin. It smells like lavender which I personally love, as its very spring appropriate and fresh feeling. This has worked well for my skin so far and leaves me with soft looking/feeling skin.

Graze Box Lovin'

Wednesday, 4 May 2016

Graze Box, Graze, Snacks, Healthy Snacks, Forever September, Variety Box, Beauty Blogger, Lifestyle Blogger, SEO

Just a pre warning - this is not sponsored what so ever, I just really wanted to share my love for Graze Boxes..

I'm pretty sure everybody and their dog has heard about Graze Boxes, you see promotions and ads for them pretty much everywhere these days. I received code for a free box in something I purchased and decided I was actually going to try one this time instead of throwing the flyer in the bin. So I went online, set up my account and off I went!

Their site is so cool may I just say. Before you start choosing the products you might want in your box, it asks whether you have any dietary requirements, such as are you a vegetarian, do you have dairy etc. So I think thats super helpful. I personally didn't tick any of those as I wasn't really bothered by anything. So it gave me a list of all their products to choose from, and you go through them and mark them as you wish. If you put one down as 'bin' they will never send it too you. If you mark one down as 'love' then you're more likely to get that particular snack. A great little system. They have a variety of sweet and savoury snacks to choose from and they really do cater to a wide audience.

So I've had two boxes so far and I've really enjoyed both. I won't go into detail about every snack, so I'll tell you the favourites. In my first box I received an apple and cinnamon flapjack and that was 100% my favourite. I don't think it was the healthiest flapjack in the world but it was honestly the best tasting flapjack to ever set foot in my mouth haha. In my second box I got some really lovely sweet treats, bar one savoury. I've only eaten one which was the billionaire shortbread snack which had mini fudge pieces, chocolate bits, almonds and cranberries - so yummy. However I feel like my favourite may well be the banana bread, it even comes with a little tea bag how adorable is that?!

Dainty Pieces With Jewellery Box

Sunday, 1 May 2016

I'm a lover of dainty jewellery, especially earrings - so when JewelleryBox.co.uk* got in touch, I couldn't resist trying a few pieces...

So for starters, I was super impressed with Jewellery Box and what they have to offer. They have such a vast amount of jewellery available, ranging from some cheap pieces to much more expensive. The pieces I picked out were very reasonable, but they don't feel cheap at all and they certainly don't look it!

Lets start of with the stunning Rose Gold Arrow Necklace*, I mean look at it. I'm obsessed with rose gold, like the next person and this is no exception. Usually I'm not a huge fan of necklaces and don't wear them on a daily basis, but for going out or doing something nice, its always good to have a cute necklace to throw on! This is very subtle as well, and sits really nicely. I just love the arrow detailing, very Pinterest/Tumblr inspired! Secondly, I picked out something I wouldn't normally buy - the Puffed Crescent Moon Anklet*. Whenever I'm on holiday I always buy the really cheap fabric anklets and keep them on for so long after my holiday, I just love having that little detail. This looks so pretty wrapped around my ankle, and since summers on its way I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get it!

The other two pieces I picked out were earrings, the jewellery I wear most as I love my piercings. The first pair I went for were the Rose Gold 10mm Sleeper Hoops*. I'm obsessed with hoop earrings and when I spotted they had rose gold ones, I was all over it! These areSmall Arrow Studs*. Can you see the theme here, lots of rose gold and silver haha! I thought these were adorable and matched with the arrow necklace. These are tiny, which I much prefer with earrings. I wear these in my first holes and the rose gold hoops in the second. They're a great combination, and look so cute together. These were so cheap as well, I'd really recommend.
small hoops that sit quite tightly to the ear lobe but look so dainty. The other pair I picked out were the
