Stepping Into Autumn

A lil' fashion post to kick off the Autumn...

I'm very excited that the weather is starting to get a bit cooler, and the oversized shirts/jackets are being pulled out. I've been obsessed with mom jeans as of late, and these ones from Asos literally rock. Paired with a western style belt, its just my go to. A simple ringer tshirt goes really nicely with baggy black jeans. And finallly I can style over sized shirts! I adore this shirt from Pull&Bear, it actually keeps me surprisingly warm, and it goes with basically everything. Winner for me. Finally, shoes. I recently picked up a pair of Stan Smith's and haven't hardly worn anything else since. They're so comfy and they look really lovely with this outfit. Oooh, and my necklace. Its one of Anna Saccone's star sign necklaces, mines Virgo & I'm obsessed, so beautiful. I've linked everything I'm wearing below if you're interested!

Whats your favourite piece from this outfit?

Beauty Bits I Got For My Birthday

It was inevitable that I was going to get a few beauty bits for my birthday so here we are (this might be a long one so grab a cuppa)...

My birthday was a week ago now buuut, I kind of wanted to share the beauty bits I got. So first of all, my lovely friend Chloe got me quite the bundle of beauty bits and bobs! So lets start with what she kindly picked up for me. The first thing was the Natural Collection Blush in Dusky Pink. I haven't bought anything from Natural Collection in a very long time but I was so happy with this. Dusky pink shades are my absolute favourite and this blush is no exception. It looks very pretty lightly dusted over the apples of my cheeks. Secondly, was the NYX Illuminator in Enigmatic. Being the NYX obsessive I am, I was intregued when I unwrapped this. Its a beautiful light pink highlighter/illuminator that just looks so natural and beautiful on the cheek bones. Then onto the No7 Matte Lip Crayon in Raspberry Wine. This is such a me colour. I can't really explain the colour, its just kind of a browny/red/pink shade but its just so pretty and I'm so impressed with this! It feels so comfortable on the lips and isn't drying at all. Lastly was the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I used to use this concealer all the time but then swapped it for a different one and I've forgotten how good it is. Can't go wrong with this!

That was quite the ramble haha, but thank you to the wonderful Chloe for all those lovely things. Now onto the two eyeshadow palettes. First up is the Morphe 35OS palette. I've got a whole post coming up soon on this so I won't say too much, other than the fact its INCREDIBLE. Second up is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. My wonderful friends got me this as a surprise and I was so flipping happy about it. I already own the Semi-Sweet palette so this is so nice to add to my collection. The smell is also pretty incredible as you'll know, and all the shadows are so pigmented and buttery. Love love love this palette.

Last but by no means least was the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara. I'd heard so many amazing things about this mascara and just knew I had to get my hands on it, without splashing out £20 myself. I've tried this a few times and do really like it. Its not as impressive as I expected for the price and brand, but nonetheless its still fab. It does a fantastic job of separating the lashes and giving them a good amount of volume. It does lose the curl as the day goes on but that could just be my lashes, who knows. All in all, its a good little mascara.

Pelicano Brighton

I was in Brighton for my birthday on Saturday and we stopped off for a coffee break in Pelicano...

We'd arrived in Brighton at about half 11, which is of course coffee time. Or cake time. We stumbled across this extremely cute coffee shop called Pelicano, and I couldn't not dedicate a whole post to this place. I think the photos do a good job at showing you the beauty it had to offer, but it doesn't quite capture the vibe. It was a pretty tiny place, with wooden flooring, plain walls, quite rustic.

The cake selection was just incredible. My Mum and I shared a raspberry cheese cake brownie. Yes I know, literally my two favourite things combined. It was extremely delicious. They had some other very cool looking things, such as green tea chocolate cake, salted caramel brownies etc. The food and the interior combined just made for a really pleasant experience. I'd highly recommend Pelicano if you're in Brighton!

September Glossybox 2016

This is my first Glossybox I've purchased, and boy am I impressed...

I've never had a beauty subscription box before and could never quite understand the hype as you didn't know what you were getting, what if you didn't like it etc. But I was intregued to see what it was all about so decided to order myself a Glossybox. After searching around I thought this was the safest bet for me. So onto what came in my September box.

Vitamasques Hydro Face Mask | RPR £7.99
Finally I get to try out a sheet mask, hallelujah. This mask promises to give a heavy dose of moisture and claims to keep your skin hydrated for up to 120 hours (nearly a week)!

I've seen so many bloggers talk about the new face mask releases from The Body Shop. They all look so good but one that seems to be a winner, and one that stands out most to me is this one. I'm a big fan of charcoal masks as I feel like they really give my skin a good cleanse. Can't wait to try this out!

I was excited about this one. I've never tried anything from Rodial before, as they're a pretty pricey brand to say the least. This is the full sized product which is pretty amazing! I'm excited to see what this is like on the waterline and how well it smokes out on the lash line!

GOSH are a brand I haven't really dabbled in. This is essentially a lip tint kind of thing. I have already tried this and have to say I didn't like it all that much. It literally looks like a pink highlighter you'd use in school. Its a very watery, thin formula that doesn't transfer onto the lips very well. It was super patchy and didn't look right at all. The only good thing about this was the smell.

I was soooo flipping excited about this. I've wanted to try the Better Than Sex mascara for the longest time, but never got around to purchasing. I have a feeling I'm going to love this. I'll definitely be reporting back!

Again, another one to be excited about. I never use a top coat when painting my nails, because to be honest, I can't be bothered. Soooo this is going to be very useful. It looks really good so I'm expecting great things!

All in all, this box was super fab! Have you ever tried Glossybox?

A Flirty Flatlay with Adore Me

I've never really thought talking about underwear would be something I'd feature on this blog but well, here we are...

When Adore Me told me they were starting a #flirtyfallflatlay campaign, I had to get involved. Now, as you can probably tell from the photo above, I'm not one for 'flirty' lingerie really. I'm much more of a comfort kind of gal. So, for this '#flirtyfallflatlay' I've gone for my comfy Calvin Klein Bralette and a knitted stripy jumper. Like I said, I'm all about the comfort and you for sure can't get more comfy than a Calvin Klein bra. Theres no underwire to bug you throughout the day or stupid little straps that keep falling down either. Its just there, and its comfy. Since we're well on the way to autumn as well, this kind of jumper is so appropriate. Its quite nice to have an off the shoulder jumper as well to wear with a bralette like this, because it shows it off a little.

Now, the main reason I wanted to post about this and back the campaign is because Adore Me aim to empower women to feel their best selves and to have self confidence. When I'm wearing something like this I feel confident, because I feel comfortable. If you love to wear a lacy bralette, go for it girl. Wear what makes YOU feel your best. This is not sponsored content at all by the way, I just really liked the idea of sharing some woman to woman love. I just want everyone to feel confident to be honest haha. I'd love to hear what piece of underwear makes you feel super confident and comfortable.

Also check out Adore Me's Pinterest board here, it has lots of inspiration that I think you will all appreciate!

18 Things I've Learnt Over 18 Years

I turned 18 yesterday. I've seen this type of post/video done a lot and have loved the idea of it, so heres 18 things I've learnt over 18 years...

001. Don't pretend to be someone you're not
Theres no point pretending to be someone you're not, you feel so much better being your true self.

002. Family is everything
Your family are always going to be there for you to help and support you.

003. Your makeup collection is just as valid as someones stamp collection
Pretty self explanatory really. Collecting makeup isn't something to be ashamed of.

004. Its okay to be anxious, its part of who you are
Anxiety doesn't just disappear overnight. Its going to be with you for the rest of your life, but thats okay you can manage it.

005. Summer is probably always going to be your favourite season
Its amazing what a little bit of sunshine can do to your mood.

006. Spending time with people you love is good for your soul
Nothing will feel as good as spending time with people closest to you, you will cherish it for a long time.

007. You will experience things at your own pace
Don't worry about being 'left behind'. You will experience everything at your own pace and thats perfectly fine, and will probably be better in the long run.

008. Remember to read a little more
Reading is so important. Its great to escape in a book every once in a while.

009. Its okay to be nostalgic, but don't dwell
Remembering the good times is always fun, but don't dwell on the fact they're over. They were good, but they're gone. You will make new memories just as good or better.

010. Photography has always been a love of yours
You've always loved photography ever since you were little and it doesn't look like the passion is going anywhere anytime soon.

011. Appreciate the outdoors more, its beautiful
Remember to go outside and explore a bit more. Its good for your mind and you always enjoy it once you're out there.

012. Living in your own little world isn't always a bad thing
Self explanatory again, but living in your own world doesn't make you weird haha.

013. Music will always improve your mood
Music will always be there to comfort you no matter what.

014. You have a shopping addiction
You will always just want stuff. Doesn't matter what it is, you have to have it.

015. Put your happiness first
Your happiness takes priority over everything, at the end of the day you are stuck with you for the rest of your life so you have to make sure you're feeling as good as possible.

016. Give yourself more credit
You have done some really great things and you still put yourself down. Give yourself more credit, because you've got this and you can do these things.

017. You don't really like cake but cookies and brownies are your thang
You've realised after 17 years you don't really like cake all that much. However you'd do anything for a cookie or a brownie.

018. Time heals so much
My most important point. After struggling a lot last year, you have now realised what time can do. When you feel like something will never end, trust me it will. Everything is temporary and the pain will fade and you will feel better even if it isn't 100%. Always remember that.

What things have you learnt over the years?

Greens In Golden Hour

As some of you may know, I'm an avid lover of photography and want to share more on this little blog...

On Tuesday, the weather decided to get super hot again. Which I was kinda upset about since its September and Autumn should be on the way, but thats the way it goes haha! So in the late afternoon/evening I took a walk and got a few snaps of the greenery around me in what seemed to be 'golden hour'.

I hope on doing more photography based posts like this, because its what I really enjoy (alongside beauty of course)! Enjoy these photos and see you for Sunday's post!

NYX Nude Lip Collection

L to R: Bedtime Flirt, Angel Food Cake, Cannes, Zurich, Rome, Soft Spoken

Since NYX hit the UK I've been pretty obsessed with buying their lip products...

The first product I was intregued by was their Lip Lingeries. The packaging looked amazing, and the array of nudes was something else. So I picked up the shade Bedtime Flirt. Its a very dusky pink shade. It looks so natural on the lips but obviously gives a matte finish. I have to say this is probably the most drying out of all their lip products, probably because its a true liquid lipstick. My next pick was one of their Butter Glosses. I picked up the shade Angel Food Cake, because I mean look at it. Its a gorgeous browny/nude pink shade. I don't tend to go for glosses but this is incredible. Its so comfortable on the lips and not sticky at all like many glosses. I think its the perfect everyday colour, and oh my gosh these smell amazing!

Now onto the Soft Matte Lip Creams. These are so hyped about in the blogging world, and I totally get why. The first shade I picked up was Cannes. This isn't necessarily your typical nude, as its quite a warm toned pink. Its nothing too daring, but it just looks gorgeous on the lips. Its almost a your lips but better shade, so perfect for everyday wear in my opinion. The second shade I picked up was Zurich. This is much more nude than Cannes, but they still look quite similar in the tube. Anyway this is much lighter and a little less pink. Again, perfect everyday colour for me as its quite natural. The last Soft Matte Lip Cream I picked up was Rome. I think this has to be my favourite. Although again, its not your typical nude. Its a lot darker than Cannes and Zurich as you may be able to see. Its got brown and pink undertones but just looks gorgeous on the lips. You've just got to try this one out for yourself to appreciate it haha.

Finally, my most recent purchase. One of the Liquid Suedes. I picked up the shade Soft Spoken, after a friend recommended it. Its a very brown toned nude, again with pink undertones. Like all of the NYX lip products, this is very easy to apply. This is slightly drying but it sticks around ALL day, let me tell you that. Definitely need to pick up a few more of the Liquid Suedes!

What are your favourite NYX lip products?

Current Favourites #1

I'm rubbish at monthly favourites, because I rarely change things up from month to month, so welcome to my current favourites series...

This brush came with my Morphe 600 12 Piece Sable Brush Set, which costs £11.25 so technically the brush alone costs about £1, bargain. I did a review of the whole set,  you can read that here. Anyway back to this amazing brush. I'd been after a fan brush for a fair while, and this was the brush that sort of sold the sable brush set to me. This is so flipping soft, it feels amazing to brush across your face. I use this for highlight and wow, it just makes it look 10x better I swear. Would really recommend this or getting yourself a fan brush!

Okay, we need to just take a moment for this cleanser. I have never smelt a skincare product as delicious as this, it smells like actual popcorn and all things sweet. I bought this after getting a bit bored with my cleanser, as I'd been using the same one for almost a year. I've wanted to try out some Lush skincare and this is what I opted for. It cleanses and gently exfoliates at the same time. Which my skin really needs at the moment, because I have quite a few dry patches. It leaves my skin feeling soft every time and I can see myself using this for a very long time.

I picked up this adorable monthly planner from Fox and Star after reading Sarah's Blogger Essentials: Notebooks post. Since its back to college this month, there was no better time than now to pick one of these bad boys up. I love everything about this planner, how tiny it is, the layout, everything. Its so handy and honestly, just what I was looking for.

The first song of Jamie T I heard was Zombie, and I loved it. Recently Jamie T has brought out a new album called Trick and I am obsessed. If you like quite indie/alternative music then I think you'll really like this. Even if you don't I suggest you give it a listen because its really different but so good. My favourite songs on the album have to be, Joan of Arc, Tescoland and Robin Hood.

What are your currently favourites?

Asos Autumn/Winter Wish List

Now we're into September, we can officially call it Autumn. This means shopping for the new season, so I decided to pop together an Asos wish list...

I much prefer autumn/winter fashion over summer to be honest. I love the idea of layering things up, the cosy scarfs etc. I was having a good old browse on Asos and founds so many lovely pieces for the up coming autumn/winter that I just had to share some of my favourite bits.

What have you got your eye on for the upcoming autumn/winter?

Tartelette In Bloom Palette

Look what I finally got my hands on...

YES its the Tartelette in Bloom Palette, and I couldn't be more excited. This has been out for a fair while now but its so difficult to get hold of in the UK. So when my Mum's friend said she was going on holiday to the US this summer, I jumped at the chance to get my hands on at least one thing from Sephora. And obviously the thing I picked out was this beauty.

The packaging on this though...heavenly. It suits the shades in the palette so well and it looks so good displayed on my Muji storage. Each shade is gorgeous as well and I'm sure I'm going to get use out of each and every one of them. So lets talk through the shades.

Charmer: A nude/white shade thats great as a base before adding any colour to the lid. Jetsetter: A light more cool toned brown, great for the crease. Rocker: An almost purple toned brown, with lots of shimmer. Smokeshow: A deep brown, almost black shade. Its the darkest colour in the palette. Flower Child: A more nudey pink shade, again great for all over the lid before adding more colour. Smarty Pants: A warm toned, almost orange shade which would be good as a base shadow. Firecracker: A very bronzy shimmery shade which is my personal favourite dusted all over the lid. Activist: A true dark chocolate brown that would be good for the outter corners or crease. Funny Girl: A champagne, pinky very shimmery shade. So lovely in the inner corners. Sweetheart: A pinky matte shade which would be great for a simple eye look. Rebel: Great as a crease shade paired with 'Firecracker', for a warm toned eyeshadow look. Leader: A red toned brown, which is brilliant for giving definition to a look.

They're all very gorgeous shades with a good mixture of mattes and shimmers for my liking. My favourite shades have to be 'Firecracker', 'Rebel' and 'Funny Girl'. I think Firecracker is such a unique incredible colour that looks amazing all over the lid. Paired with Rebel in the crease it really creates an autumnal, warm toned eye look that I'm so into. I also love Funny Girl on the inner corners to brighten.

Whats your favourite Tarte product?

The Killer Essie Duo

I've only just started to dabble in the world of Essie nail polishes, and I have already found a pairing that is just perfect...

Here we have Essie's 'A Cut Above' and 'Fiji'. I chose A Cut Above on a whim a while back when I ordered four polishes from Fragrance Direct and boy am I glad I picked it up. I didn't know what nail polish to use A Cut Above with because I didn't really have anything to match the pinky glitter. Then I stumbled across Sally's Essie Collection post, and saw that she paired Fiji and A Cut Above. Thats when I popped out to Boots and snapped it up!

Fiji is a very light pink shade thats almost white. Its extremely pretty and would suit anyone in my opinion. The lasting power of it is fab just like most Essie polishes. Even though its a very pale colour, I only needed two coats which I thought was amazing. Then with A Cut Above added on as an accent nail, well it just looks amazing. A Cut Above isn't chunky glitter at all, but quite fine. It applied onto my nails equally and just looks really dainty. I definitely need to pick up some more of Essie's glitter polishes!

Have you tried this combination?

My First Festival Experience

Last Friday I went to Reading festival and it was the first festival I've ever been to, and I just thought it'd be funny to share my experience with the whole thing...

Its an absolute mess: I guess this is quite an obvious one really haha. Well I mean it wasn't too bad in the morning but as the day went on, wow was it filthy. Get those Coachella images out of your head because no, it is nothing like that. Even though its messy, I feel like its part of the whole experience.

You're also going to get filthy: I was pretty dirty by the end of the day. When I was in amongst the crowds, so much dirt got kicked up and it ended up all over my face, down my legs, even in my mouth (gross). Having a shower the day after was literally the best feeling. I don't think getting dirty is necessarily a bad thing, shows you had a good time...right?

They only serve junk food: All part of the fun! Even if it is extremely overpriced. I'm definitely not complaining, because who doesn't love junk food?! Pizza, chips, burgers, you name it, they've got it!

The crowds are intense: I ended up pretty squished a few times, thinking I wouldn't see the light of day again haaaa. Although it was actually quite fun, it was super hot and you had a load of sweaty people around you which kinda wasn't fun. I did have to leave one crowd because I couldn't handle it but still, it was an experience!

Picking an outfit & doing festival makeup is so fun: Picking what to wear and doing your makeup before going is just the best. I love doing my makeup as it is, and an excuse to pour glitter over your face is literally amazing. It felt so freeing wearing less clothes than usual (still looking decent may I add haha).

You're going to get some pretty decent photos: Festivals always look pretty. Its full of life, cool outfits, cool colours just cool everything. Your Instagram is going to look really freaking good. In the evening at Reading there was the most beautiful sunset across the fields, and I just felt so content and happy at that point.

Have you ever been to a festival?
