The August Beauty Edit

Instead of a monthly favourites post, I think I'm gonna start doing a monthly beauty edit instead, so welcome to August's!

I'm so excited to start this, as it means I can focus on a few makeup/skincare bits I've been using and loving over the past month. So lets get staaaaarted!

I had to blow the dust off of this one, as I hadn't used it in such a long time, but its the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. The reason I dug this one back out, was because I've been having a thing with pink lately, and there are a few gorgeous pinky, mauve shades to choose from in here. I think its really summer appropriate, and is perfect if you want to do a subtle, yet pretty eye look. Another coveted item I loved throughout August (and am still loving), was the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I haven't used this for such a long time, and using it over the past few weeks has really rekindled my love for it. It covers my dark circles so well without looking cakey - winner!

Onto a product you might get sick of hearing about, but I don't think I'll ever shut up about how pretty it is. Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick was pretty much all I used throughout August. Its the perfect everyday nude shade and its honestly the most comfortable lipstick ever! Moving away from lipstick, and onto whats been going on my face. For contour, I've really been enjoying the Rimmel Insta Duo Contour Stick*. I use the shade light, well because I'm pale af. I was a bit skeptical at first, as the contour side is quite orange toned, but once blended it looks really good. Apparently its a great dupe for the Kim K contour sticks too!

To give me a bit more of a glow throughout the summer, I've been popping on a bit of the MAC Strobe Cream before applying my foundation. It really brightens up the complexion, but in such a subtle way. You can also pop this across your cheekbones to give an extra bit of highlight, but I've mostly been using it underneath my foundation. And finally, something that I'm sure most people have been loving throughout August, but the Zoella Shower Sauce. I bought this and the body cream, and have been loving the duo. It smells incredible and the scent lingers for quite a while after, which is perfect if you've had a shower that morning!

What did you love throughout August?

  9. I love the idea of doing an 'edit' as opposed to favourites, I do that with skincare every month and I think it makes things a lot more flexible!

I will always love that concealer, I think I must be on tube 500 and there's rarely a day that I don't reach for it!

  13. Ah I want a good staple lipstick- I feel like lipstick always helps your face look more put together. Just like filling in eyebrows. It's a good thing to have on your face. But I can never be bothered to find one but your Charlotte one sounds so good!x
