The day these little palettes were launched I knew I had to try them out…
I mean look how lovely the shades of those eyeshadows are, as an eyeshadow junkie I couldn’t resist. I’ve only ever tried Tanya Burr’s nail varnishes before but quite liked them so I was willing to give some more of her collection a go. These are both from her new Soft Luxe Collection, I plan on picking up the gorgeous nail varnishes and matte liquid lipsticks too.
Lets start off with my favourite of the two, the Enchanted Dream palette. I love every shade in this palette and have already got wear out of them all. The packaging on both of the palettes are cardboard which is quite cheap, but you can’t complain as the price is really good. Berry Soufflé is my favourite shade from the bunch, its a lovely taupe brown shade and all over the lid this looks gorgeous. I then add a bit of Cocoa Plum to the centre of my lid and this is a lovely shimmery brown. Magic Carpet then goes through the crease as its a deep chocolate brown shade and finally Moonlit Walk is gorgeous in the inner corners of the eyes to make the whole look pop. The shadows aren’t the most pigmented I’ve ever used but you can really pack them on to give a more opaque colour, and when blended together they look great.
The second palette is Birthday Suit. This has two nude shades and two more browny nude shades. I must say I’m not as impressed with this palette as the Enchanted Dream. Marzipan is probably my favourite shade as its a lovely champagne shimmery nude, lovely for all over the lid or on the inner corners. One shade which is a huge let down in this palette is Cocoa Sugar (the bottom left shade). It has rather large chunks of glitter in it instead of it being nice a shimmery, which I’m not a fan of as it gives a lot of fallout. It looks pretty but the glitter chunks are a bit too much for me. Toast and Soft Truffle are pretty nevertheless, and are great for a simple eyeshadow look.
Overall I like both of the palettes bar one shade. Its a great mix of mattes and shimmers with fairly good pigmentation for the price. I’ll definitely be continuing to use these as they can give a really pretty look.
Have you ever tried anything from Tanya Burr Cosmetics?
