It’s been far too long since I did a life update. I always worry nobody will want to read them, but then I remember how much I love reading these types of posts myself – so here we are. Anyway, a few things have gone on over the past few months, so I thought I’d just have a little ramble about some of them and yeah…grab a cuppa and enjoy!
2nd year is almost over
I can’t believe I just typed out those 5 words. This whole university thing is going far too quick. I just have one more thing to hand in for this year and then I’ll be all done until September. I can’t say second year was easy, it was really bloody difficult actually. The first term in particular, due to my mental state. It did get a lil’ easier as 2019 rolled around but I’m just glad its done for a few months if I’m honest. Third year is gonna be HARD, so it’ll be nice to get some rest in before that begins.
a trip to amsterdam
At the end of the month, I’m off to Amsterdam. This will actually be my second time visiting the city and I’m so excited to be going back. There are a fair few things I missed last time that I hope to explore this time round. I’ll be in great company and can’t wait to spend 5 days wandering around, eating all the yummy food and just having a bloody lovely time!
a day of work experience
A few weeks ago I took a solo trip up to London to do a trial run for a summer internship. I was so nervous about it, mostly because I had to get 3 different trains all by myself. But you know what? I did it. The work experience itself, was in a photography studio. I must say, I’m not sure it was something I’d like to pursue, but it was interesting to see how they conduct shoots with the makeup artist, stylist, photographer etc.
getting back into reading
When I was younger, I used to read all the time but when I reached 15/16, I sort of stopped. I think last year I probably read 1 fiction book, which is kinda sad to be honest. So, I made it my mission to try and read more in 2019. I picked up the book ‘Call Me by Your Name’ a couple of months ago and finished it within about 3 weeks. I then went straight into reading ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’, which I finished in 2 weeks. I’m so impressed with myself and its really rekindled my love for reading.
I can’t really think of anything else to update you on for now, but I’m going to try my best to do these posts more often as I love writing them. What have you been up to lately?
