Well, it’s been long enough since my last skincare post, so here we are. I’m lucky enough to be sent some skincare products every now and again, and of course I buy enough of it myself too (oops)! Over the past year or so, I’ve really gotten into using serums/facial oils. I remember when I wouldn’t dare go near them, as I thought they’d make my already oily skin, much oilier. Albeit, this certainly isn’t the case. So, I thought I’d share 3 of my favourite facial oils/serums that I’ve been using over the past few months.
glossier super pure
I’m not sure this post would be complete without including the Glossier Super Pure. If you have blemish prone/oily skin, this is the serum for you. This has 5% niacinamide (also known as vitamin B3), which helps to reduce the appearance of blemishes and congestion. I used this for the first time about a year and a half ago, when my skin was particularly oily/blemish prone. I definitely saw some good results, it really helped to reduce my breakouts and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. Luckily, I don’t have breakouts near as much these days so I don’t tend to opt for this serum anymore. However, I’d highly recommend this if you do have a more oily skin type or suffer with the occasional breakout!
dr botanicals hemp bio – vitality nutrition oil
I was kindly sent this from the lovely people over at Dr Botanicals and I’m obsessed. This is the Hemp Bio-Vitality Nutrition Oil. The aim of this facial oil is to nourish the skin. It contains hemp seed oil which is rich in fatty acids, vitamins and minerals which helps to nourish the skin. I must say, you can really feel the nourishment when applying it to the skin and even the next morning. It leaves my skin feeling really smooth and hydrated, which is great as my skin seems to have become quite dry over the past few months. I should also mention that Dr Botanical products are vegan and cruelty free – woo!
pixi glow tonic serum
Up until a couple of months ago, I had never tried anything from Pixi (I know, unbelievable). But then I was lucky enough to have the ‘glow’ collection land on my doorstep so this was no longer the case. I was instantly drawn to the Glow Tonic, as ya know, its a cult classic. However, I saw the Glow Tonic Serum and was intregued. Its inspired by the Glow Tonic (obvs) and they explain its the perfect partner. Its packed with glycolic acid and fruit extracts, which gently exfoliates the skin and creates radiance. This has quite a thick consistency and a little goes a long way, so I can’t see me running out of this anytime soon. Whenever I use this, my skin always has a lovely glow the next morning – I love it.
