I think its pretty obvious that I’m a bit of a skincare fanatic. So when the lovely people over at Beautylish got in touch asking whether I’d like to try some Good Molecules products, of course I said yes. Good Molecules are an American brand, sold on Beautylish but have their own site too which does shipping to the UK (yay). All of their products are cruelty free which I was so happy to see. So, most of the products I’ve tried a couple of times now but I thought I’d share my first impression!
clarify & cleanse bar
First up we have the Clarify & Cleanse Bar. This is something completely new to me, I have never used a cleanser in bar form so I was intrigued. It doesn’t have a particularly strong scent which is great if your skin doesn’t like fragrant products. It lathers up really well and feels really gentle on the skin. I actually found it did a better job at removing any excess makeup than some liquid cleansers I’ve used in the past. For me, the only annoying thing is figuring out where to store it. I’ll have to get myself a soap dish, but thats not exactly a hardship haha! Great first impressions for this and I can’t wait to continue using it.
niacinamide brightening toner
I was super excited to give the Niacinamide Brightening Toner a go. If you didn’t know, niacinamide is well known for its healing properties (reducing redness, soothing breakouts etc). My skin is usually pretty good in terms of breakouts, but I do have quite an uneven skin tone so I have hope this might help with that. Its alcohol-free which means its much less likely to dry out your skin and it claims to be a brightening toner too – woo! It comes in a glass bottle as well (yas environmentally friendly) but this also feels really luxurious. Soo, I popped a bit of this on a cotton round and swiped it all over my face. Similarly to the cleanser, I didn’t notice a particularly strong scent which was quite nice actually. Its hard to tell whether this has had any effect just yet, but something I will update you on as I continue to use it.
ultra-hydrating facial oil
The Ultra-Hydrating Facial Oil claims to hydrate, nourish and protect your skin and is formulated for all skin types. I love a good ol’ facial oil and so far I have no complaints about this. It comes in quite a small bottle, but a little goes a long way. It sinks into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave you with that tacky feeling some oils can, so thats a bonus. Likewise with the toner, it’s hard to say whether I have seen any results yet but something I will keep you updated on. However so far, so good. At only $10 (around £8) you can’t really go wrong!
silicone-free priming moisturizer
The Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer is perfect for prepping your skin for makeup. I think silicone based primers are a love/hate thing, so if you’re not a fan then this is such a great option. The main ingredients include macadamia seed oil, shea butter and a naturally derived silicone alternative – all the natural goodness. It feels lightweight on the skin which I think is perfect if you’re using it before applying makeup and it also sinks into the skin quickly. My only gripe with this is it doesn’t have SPF. I think it would have been a great feature since its a moisturiser used before applying makeup, but its not the end of the world. I’ll definitely continue to use this!
