– Gifted experience in collaboration with The Cosy Club –
Last Thursday evening we were invited down to The Cosy Club for a cocktail masterclass. Now, I’m not really a drinker, however I would never turn down a cocktail or two. So, we headed down to the Guildford restaurant to do some learning and drinking!
let’s make some cocktails.
Upon arrival we received a small glass of limoncello, which is an Italian lemon liqueur. We then sat down and Jess, who was the lovely lady hosting the masterclass, presented us with an Aperol Spritz. She then taught us how to make it (from a distance). After this, we moved on to the main masterclass where Jess showed us three different cocktails (white sangria, cosy colada and a porn star martini) of which we could choose one to make. It was a difficult decision but I opted for the Cosy Colada, which is The Cosy Club’s take on a classic Piña Colada. Jess assisted from a safe 2m distance and I got to work. I genuinely think the hardest part was shaking it all up, I don’t have the technique or strength at all haha. Alas, I managed to make it and it was delicious!

Although we were invited for cocktails, The Cosy Club were kind enough to gift us food too. We opted for some tapas, which consisted of beef brisket, halloumi fries, creamy garlic mushrooms and camembert. It was all absolutely delicious and went perfectly with the cocktails we’d made. My personal favourite was the camembert (because melted cheese, duh) but the halloumi fries were a close second for sure. We also decided to order dessert as well, a warm chocolate brownie and lemon meringue cheesecake. The lemon meringue cheesecake was new to the menu and it certainly didn’t disappoint. It had a ginger nut base which is something I’ve not tried before and I feel like made it (wow, Gordon Ramsey level review there ladies and gents).
I can’t thank The Cosy Club enough for the invite, making us feel welcome and putting on a great event. Especially Jess, who was an amazing hostess and cocktail maker. I also want to mention that social distancing was put in place at all times, all members of staff were wearing masks and when making cocktails we each had to wear disposable gloves. If you’re looking for a good evening out then I’d highly recommend The Cosy Club.
