Ahh, it feels good to be back writing a post like this again. Obviously, we have been in national lockdown since January, meaning no travel. However, things are looking up and we took a trip down to Shoreham-by-Sea to have a lil explore. So, of course I had my camera in hand and wanted to share the afternoon’s musings. Enjoy!
rooted & co.
As we were wandering along, trying to find the beach, we saw this gorgeous plant shop. Stepping into Rooted & Co was like stepping into heaven for me. Surrounded by plants in beautiful pots, what more could you want? Of course I took lots of snaps and pondered for quite some time over what plant to pick up. We ended up going for a ‘Snake Plant’ (Sansevieria) in a lovely woven basket/pot. I nearly got myself a ‘String Of Hearts’ as well, but I’m sure we’ll be back soon!
Cotts&Linz was an ice cream shop we walked past but didn’t go into, but they had this super cool mural on the side of the building though. There was another small cafe/bakery we walked past called Beach Bakery and the cakes in the window looked delicious. Kind of sad I didn’t pick up a chocolate orange brownie (can’t beat chocolate orange). Obviously things weren’t open to sit inside, but most places had chairs outside orrrr you could just walk 2 minutes and sit on the beach!
We explored a bit more and ended up grabbing a (delicious) ice cream from La Patisserie. There were so many amazing looking cakes but you can’t go to the beach without getting an ice cream can ya? We both went for salted caramel. La Patisserie did have some incredible looking macarons though, if we go back then I’ll definitely be getting myself a box of those!
a lovely afternoon.
I’m so glad we ventured out to Shoreham, its a lovely place. There are loads of cafes and a few restaurants and pubs, so plenty to eat thats for sure. There were also a handful of charity shops, so we had a wander around those. I definitely think you could do a day at the beach but perhaps not a day in the town, but definitely worth a look around thats for sure!
Have you ever been to Shoreham-by-Sea?
